Kyle Wiltjer leaving Kentucky

Bo Ryan should read Cal's post and then punch himself in the face.

This team has the players around that could hide his weaknesses. Last years team didn't.

Exactly. He could just stand outside and pop it like he did a couple of years ago. He would get zero attention no matter what lineup was on the floor, last season he was the prime focus of the defense. Plus if he was on the floor with Aaron Harrison and James Young together it would really open him up for some good looks. He could have played a lot of high post and been able to mismatch with a lot of players considering the talent that would have been around him.

. If someone on this team decides to step up and take a sniper shooting role like Lamb did, they'll be fine without him.

You don't just wake up and decide you wanna shoot 40% from 3.

They'll be fine from distance....The one Harrison twin is a sharpshooter.

Possible schools that were release are Gonzaga, Oregon, Oregon State, Portland, Stanford, and Texas. Cal states he won't try block Wiltjer from going anywhere.

Never doubted that for a second. That's Cal.

I'm not surprised he left, but I am surprised that he's waited until now to do it.

He would bring perimeter shooting to this year's team, which is an area of concern for me to an extent. I wish him the best & hope he finds a setting in which he can flourish.

Maybe he didn't want it to seem like another school tampered with him during the semester.

Wiltjer couldn't guard you with the aid of Mr. T and a rocket launcher.

Although to be fair Mr. T is now 61 years old...

You don't think James Young or Aaron Harrison can shoot 40% from 3? I don't think that's a ridiculous goal. Andrew Harrison and Randle will garner so much attention that shooters will get open shots.

40% is fairly hard to get consistently

Of course it is. But it's not unthinkable for either one of them to do it.

It's not, it's just Wiltjer was a known commodity in that department. It's just more unknowns going into the season.

With as much as he talks about player's first, there is no way he could flop on that with Wiltjer. He should give a call to Florida's women's coach.
