I believe pressbox will be doubledecker / two levels.

My understanding is scoreboard will just make it in time for the ESPN game.

 

It appears that there is a whole bunch of work and things going on back there but there really isn't

All of the construction materials and equipment is related to the school renovation that is going on.

Has the contract been signed with the ESPN networks so that the ESPN game is assured?

What about the playing surface? I was up there recently and it really looked in sad condition. Any plans on that front?

On top of a the new press box and scoreboard, add in some repairs to the field due to drainage issues...currently working on the southeast corner around the 15 yd line. I wonder what will happen to turf in that corner, just a patch job?

This is not the 1st time the field has been repaired due to drainage issues.....And probably won't be the last until the field is replaced in the next couple of years.

 

So yes, just a patch job!!!

The rumor that I heard was the new scoreboard is being delivered Monday 7-29. Lots of work being done in a lot of different areas, press box, drainage, painting. Thanks to the volunteers of the Bluebird faithful, the stadium should be awesome for the nationally televised opener. Lots of people behind the scenes putting in a lot of hard work, thanks to them as they are the unsung hero's of Ft. Thomas. Great people in a great city !! :thumb:

Problem is, it is headed to storage until the rerouting of the storm and sanitary lines are completed. The new route of the utilities basically run right underneath of the new scoreboard location which is the same spot as the old board.

 

It will all come together...The new pressbox, scoreboard, utilities, field repair, re-paving, painting of facilities, etc.

 

Heck they have about work 20 days or so before first game, plenty of time

 

FWIW, Hoosierbird post insinuated that this work is being done by volunteers, well not exactly.

All of the work being done is contracted work to vendors and subcontractors. This deadline is on them this time:thumb:

Clearly you have never been involved with moving utilities and sewer lines. If it hasn't been started already, 20 days would make me very nervous. They have no idea what they are opening up there. Once you do, you are subject to all the new requirements. Better hope the Campbell County Inspectors are very Highlands Friendly.
