I had also heard a bubble is going over Death Valley. Apparently the junior football league is talking about it.

Is everyone forgetting that DV is not a full field and the one end zone butts up to houses and the other is a nature preserve that I was previously told was never to be touched. It all sounds fine and good but I don't think FTJFL has that jack laying around. I also don't think they'd spend the money on a less than regulation size field. It just doesn't make sense.

New indoor facility will be right around 12,000 s.f. I believe it will be 100' x 120' with future expansion capability.

The new facility will accommodate all Highlands athletic groups and other extra curricular activities.

It will also double as the Visitors locker room. Team buses will be able to navigate to the bottom via a new gradual slope road.

 

I believe there will still be some green area for FTJFL practices but not games.

 

All of this is not a rumor, it will go out for bid in late September early October and construction to begin immediately thereafter.

Due to overnight rain (can't chew up the big field) and Labor Day (can't play the usual Monday), we played our JV game one Saturday morning against Cov Cath in Death Valley. After kick-offs, the ball was placed 20 yards back to account for the 80-yard field. I don't see how a full field can be put down there.

Sweep has the information correct on the Fieldhouse. Plans are in the works to develop the Valley, including a practice field behind the fieldhouse building and parking spaces. However, he may be a little optimistic on timing.

 

That old scoreboard would look great in my backyard! When does the raffle start? You could pay for the new fieldhouse with all the chances you could sell!

I havent been to Highlands field in a few years, but wow that turf looks beat to hell, just like Lex Cath's did until they replaced it.

Wow. That must have been some game huh. Did they kick extra points by having everyone line up facing the school so that they could use the one and only goal post in the valley? If Gillum was kicking, he likely put it on the roof of the gym.

 

Looking forward to seeing you at a game this year sporting that "35" jersey. Not sure anyone is wearing it this year because one of them came up missing. Are you the guilty party?
