Are memberships being sold?

Talked to someone in "the know" last nite and they indicated that the new scoreboard will have the following symbolic features,

 

1 )It will have the H in lieu of the "feathered fella"

2 )The board will say Birds in lieu of Bluebirds

3) The State Championship yrs WILL be displayed on board

4) It is 4" bigger than Campbell Cty new board, if Highlands fans want to get an idea of how big this thing will be take a ride out US27 and you will see how big theirs is from 300 yds away. Now put it into an already cramped and tight DCM and they might have to hand out sunglasses at the gate....

5) Lastly, this bit of info really left me scratching my head, the new location appears to be where the Jeff Ruby steakhouse sign is now. Apparently, there will be an additional game clock and score board located on the new pressbox. All I can say is WOW, the Foundation Club members will not be able to see the new Jumbo from their VIP Perch, Floyd and Glo is not going to be happy about this news but Boonie will stay toasty in the stands from the radiant heat emitting from it on those chilly nites...:thumb: .

Man! You had me so excited about this awesome new addition...and then it all falls apart in the end! What an absolutely stupid decision to place the board up against the school, where a LARGE number of paying fans (and VIP supporters) have no use for it! Tragic mistake, in my opinion and I hope someone with common sense will override that nonsensical choice. :irked:

It does make sense to have it centrally located where a majority of people can see it easily. At least in theory, most people are supposed to be watching the game from the stands. I realize you and others don't, but I guess it being located for the masses to see.

Isn't that about where the clock operator was in the 1960's? I remember that Ted "Bear" Englehardt (math teacher when I was in school) ran the clock and maybe even the scoreboard from a stand between the team benches when both benches were on the same sideline. At that time there was no pressbox, the announcer was on top of the "girls gym". Oh the good old days.

I'd say a rather large percentage of the crowd (particularly at the BIG games) sits in the far end zone, stands in either end zone. or stands over where I am. And that's not even counting the people in the reserved area or the guys who broadcast games. There's zero reason why the current scoreboard location is not the better and more logical choice.

As someone else stated, the majority watch the game from the stands and have a Birdseye view no pun intended but the Foundation Supporters, the Handicap viewing location and the Highlands Coaches and players can't see replays.

 

I say the HHS coaches and players matters because of the replays and being able to see what exactly happened on the play if a player missed an assignment etc.

 

Iam going to lobby to see that it remains in the same location...:thumb:

I hope you are right but my source says it is basically a done deal location wise.

There may be some new circumstances that have recently surfaced that may have the decision makers re-thinking the location due to allowing ALL paying fans to have the ability to view this Jumbo not just the fans that have the luxury of sitting in the stands...Just sayin
