Connecticut State Police just reported at press briefing:

 

-Shooting was reported just after 9:30am EST.

 

-18 children pronounced dead at school, 2 more children pronounced dead at hospital. 7 adults, including shooter, were pronounced dead at school. Positive identifications have not been confirmed for ANY of the deceased.

 

-1 person injured.

 

-There IS a secondary crime scene IN Connecticut, including 1 deceased adult. New Jersey police are assisting at the secondary crime scene

 

-Currently there is only 1 confirmed shooter.

 

Second briefing from State Police confirmed only 1 shooter.

 

Established that the secondary crime scene was discovered while investigating the shooter.

Now CNN is reporting the Mother was found in the residence, not in her classroom.

I simply don't understand how anyone can be so evil as to shoot children. I feel numb and sick at heart listening to the reports and reading through this thread. This world is getting sicker by the minute. How can a (and I use this term loosely here) human being set his mind to cowardly shoot and kill kids?!

Please pray for the parents and families of all these victims. They're all going to need a lot of love and prayers to help them through an unimaginable nightmare.

That is what I thought before. So what would be his motive to go to the school and kill more people and what was his brothers connection to all this. Also the girlfriend is missing. To many moving pieces to this plot.

I agree. If you are going to post that there are "rumors" or whatever, and if in fact you know what they are you should post them. Just label them as a rumor or whatever, but it doesn't make sense to post and not follow up.

Agreed! But that what happens in today's world, we want to know things NOW, we can't wait, and whine and complain that we need to know something NOW, when in fact we don't need to know a thing, yet.

And the father is still alive. The father and brother are reportedly in NJ cooperating with the police.

Had to step out.

 

Some sources are citing his older brother speaking of Asberger issues and other Autistic problems in his younger brother's life.

 

That is not an "excuse" nor indictment on these disabilities. However extreme Asbergers (rarely violent I think) can allow someone to slip in deep despondency and even divorce himself from the reality of the fact that these are Kindergarten children.

All the shrinks are on the news shows right now. Everything from "commando syndrome", "depersonalization" due to video games, Facebook and the like, etc.

 

Every time one of them starts to talk I feel compelled to change the channel.
