God Bless the souls that were sent to Heaven by this gun man. Lord, comfort the families dealing with profound loss. I understand one of the victims was the gunman's mother!

 

Neither the Columbine or the Virginia Tech shootings did enough damage to the psyche of this country to change the gun culture. The mass murder of 20 some odd elementary school children might. I am all for self protection with a hand gun or hunting with a rifle. But automatic weapons are not defensive and the right to arm a state militia does not guarantee an individuals right to own an automatic weapon.

Some reports from NBC are that the shooter was carrying his brother's identification. This may be a cause for the confusion.

 

Or it might be another bad job by journalists.

Just sport shooting. Some people just like to shoot different guns on the weekends.

If you are a parent how do you explain this to your elementary school age kids? I couldn't imagine trying to explain this to them.

Seems like this is following an Oregon shooting just his past week. Aurora last year. China today.

 

If you mean school: It's been since 2007 that we've approached this. (VA Tech)

 

We always fear more, but that can be true at anytime about anything.

CBS, ABC and NBC editorialized during their reports. Reporters/anchors just need give me the news and NOT opinions. And try not to sensationalize as well.

 

This cowardly act is beyond comprehension.

News media now needs to leave this town and especially those grieving parents alone for a while. But you know they will descend on that city like a bunch of vultures to get viewership up and what's even sadder is that most of us WILL tune it in.

Shooter now has fairly certainly been confirmed as Adam Lanza, brother of Ryan Lanza. Ryan is believed to be the suspect in custody.
