December 14, 201213 yr Connecticut State Police just reported at press briefing: -Shooting was reported just after 9:30am EST. -18 children pronounced dead at school, 2 more children pronounced dead at hospital. 7 adults, including shooter, were pronounced dead at school. Positive identifications have not been confirmed for ANY of the deceased. -1 person injured. -There IS a secondary crime scene IN Connecticut, including 1 deceased adult. New Jersey police are assisting at the secondary crime scene -Currently there is only 1 confirmed shooter.
December 14, 201213 yr Gotta love the media. Yep. It sounds like he targeted his mom's class. Police has confirmed 27 dead at the school, 20 kids and 7 adults (including shooter). All were in the same classroom/section of the school. 1 other dead at another scene (assuming this is the father). An autopsy will confirm if the shooter took his own life or not.

Same way we tried to handle 9/11, Virginia Tech and now this. Hold them, hug them, and tell them that we love them (whether they want to hear it or not).

December 14, 201213 yr Thought thats why schools have resource officers? Not saying it's a bad idea just sad that it's coming to this. Not every school has a resource officer. It depends upon the school system, budgets and monies available for this. Many of our elementary schools share Nurses for goodness sake, let alone an officer full time.
