Leake pitching for his playoff roster spot tonight.

 

Dusty/Speier plugged Cueto into Leake's normal spot in the rotation on Tuesday. I saw Leake at First Watch on Tuesday morning. He looked a bit forlorn.

 

Leake hasn't pitched since September 19. (He gave up 4 runs in 6 innings, including Soriano's blast out on to Waveland Avenue.) It will be interesting to see how the extra time off affects him.

 

Having been in the rotation the whole year, it would blow to be left off the playoff roster. I am pulling for him. He is a good guy.

Hoping his hitting skills, speed and success against the Giants contribute to getting a spot. Uphill battle. Shutting down the Pirates tonight sure wouldn't hurt his chances.

Leake pitching really well tonight, which is good, because the Reds can't plate a run.

Leake dealing on the mound and at the plate. He has won 4 of his last 5 starts coming in to today. He would be a great long relief option in the playoffs.

He would be a better pinch hitting option than Valdez, Cairo or Stubbs.

I was hoping he would come out. Late in the game is when Leake gets lit up.

Leake was shut down in 2010 and did not play in the post season. Leaving him off the roster this year would be a blow.

If I am Leake I am OK with leaving after 6 shutout innings. (And I am hoping Arrendondo gets lit up like a Christmas tree.)
