September 29, 201213 yr Leake pitching for his playoff roster spot tonight. Dusty/Speier plugged Cueto into Leake's normal spot in the rotation on Tuesday. I saw Leake at First Watch on Tuesday morning. He looked a bit forlorn. Leake hasn't pitched since September 19. (He gave up 4 runs in 6 innings, including Soriano's blast out on to Waveland Avenue.) It will be interesting to see how the extra time off affects him. Having been in the rotation the whole year, it would blow to be left off the playoff roster. I am pulling for him. He is a good guy.

September 29, 201213 yr Almost every team leaves their fifth starter off their roster. Hoping his hitting skills, speed and success against the Giants contribute to getting a spot. Uphill battle. Shutting down the Pirates tonight sure wouldn't hurt his chances.

September 30, 201213 yr Leake was shut down in 2010 and did not play in the post season. Leaving him off the roster this year would be a blow.
