I haven't read as much as I would like over the past couple years. The last book I finished was Defending Jacob by William Landay and thought it was really good.

On my Kindle now. Plan to start this weekend.
Ended up starting it last night. Finished this morning. Incredible story. Thought the writing lacked at times. But man, what an amazing person and life.
Do yourself a favor and read "Fearless" about former Navy SEAL Adam Brown and the short life he lived. Inspiring and sad. The things that SEALs are asked to do is mind boggling.
Truth.

Clyde, Clyde, Clyde....you're better than this.

Just finished "No Heroes: A Memoir of Coming Home" by Chris Offutt.

A side note. Offutt is from Haldeman, about 10 miles east of Morehead. His father was a swords-and-sorcery writer. My longest-running college roommate was also from Haldeman. His dad had a 4th-grade education and hauled trash for a living. Roommate and I often helped. The Offutt house was on the trash route; roommate's dad said that the elder Offutt was "teched".

Interesting reading about the eastern end of Rowan County; many familiar landmarks in the book.

I'm about halfway through "Letters To A Christian Nation", by Sam Harris.

I finished The Great Debate: Edmund Burke, Thomas Paine, and the Birth of Right and Left and I recommend it. It's a little dry, but the author quotes quite a bit from the original writings of Burke and Paine, who did debate and argue with one another, which I did not know. While I know the author's political leanings, he is even-keeled and distills insights from Burke and Paine that followers of both sides can find valuable.

HABIB says it's dry.:scared:

Not too deep......but....with Vince Flynn's passing (read everything he wrote with Mitch Rapp in it first ) I found Ted Bell's Alex Hawke series with the help of Marty Brenaman..... On book 3......

JP's "Private-Down Under".
