ATLCat
Kentucky has a strong crop of talent including guys with major college recruitments and personal trophy cases already filled with awards. You will hear plenty about names from this tier of players in the media and on your favorite college school's subscription websites. This list is not about those guys. It is about the guys who may come from smaller or less thought about programs. For some these may be new names, for others it may be a guy who just isn't getting the attention they deserve. This is the "Stealth 7". Seven players who are under the radar but capable of doing big damage. In No Particular Order: 1. RB Landan Swartz, Bath County Landan Swartz - Hudl 2017: 272 Carries, 2196 Yards, 26 TD's. 3 Defensive INT's, 3 Non-Offensive TD's Swartz was huge in Bath County's 7-3 regular season and put on a show in the playoffs against Lexington Catholic rushing for 274 yards as the Wildcats gave the Knights a huge First Round scare. If Swartz remains healthy he should eclipse 2000 yards again and give Bath a legitimate chance at a home playoff game and maybe even a District Title. For Bath County's hopes for a prosperous 2018 all BGP can say is, "May be the Swartz be with you!" 2. QB Joey Cambron, Daviess County Joey Cambron - Hudl 2017: 236/421, 4078 yards, 11 INT's Cambron was the State's top passer in 2017 averaging over 300 yards per game. He led his Panthers to the Regional Finals in Class 6A including a pair of road upsets at North Hardin and heavily favored McCracken County. Daviess gave Central Hardin a scare in the Regional Finals and Cambron did his part throwing for 320 yards in a 27-20 loss. Cambron is a statistical monster and is poised for a 2018 season where he goes from "stealth" to "front and center" 3. RB/LB Nathan Skidmore, Powell County Nathan Skidmore - Hudl 2017: 219 carries, 2031 yards, 24 TD's 48 solo tackles, 2 Defensive TD's Skidmore is a football player in it's purest since. He was superb as Powell rattled off 8 straight wins en route to a District Championship and Regional Finals appearance. In a 2nd Round upset of then 10-1 Casey County Skidmore stole the show rushing for 190 yards as Powell won a 44-41 shootout. New Head Coach Josh Kincaid has to feel like he hit the lottery inheriting Skidmore as he takes over the helm of the Pirate Ship. 4. RB/DB Devon Nesbitt, Crittenden County Devon Nesbitt - Hudl 2017: 189 carries, 1289 yards, 24 TD's 11 rec, 186, yards, 1 TD 1 Defensive TD Nesbitt may be a stealth player, but Crittenden County is a stealth team. The Rockets came from an outside lane to reach the Regional Finals and return three players who were all potentially worthy of this list. Crittenden's hopes of a deep push in Class 1A will fall heavily on the RB's shoulders. If Nesbitt and his squadron of stealths can duplicate their 2017 success a Semi_Final push is entirely within reach 5. WR/DB Gunnur Lewis, Raceland Gunnur Lewis - Hudl 2017: 7 receptions, 186 yards, 1 TD, 1 Rushing TD, 52 Tackles, 5 Interceptions, 3 Defensive TD's, 1 Return TD Raceland had been close to getting over the hump and reaching the State Finals for the better part of the past decade, in 2017 they finally took the next step and advanced beyond the Semi-Finals. Lewis was arguably the top overall playmaker on all sides of the ball scoring TD's four different ways and anchoring the back half of the Rams' secondary. In a crucial Regional Finals rematch with Paintsville it was Lewis' pair of Pick 6's that really turned the game. 6. RB/LB Tad Fisher, Bracken County http://www.hudl.com/profile/5668265/Tad-Fisher 2017: 202 carries, 1606 yards, 19 TD's 24 receptions, 461 yards, 5 TD's 2 INT's, 1 Pick 6, 58 Tackles Corny commentary alert! Tad was Rad. This Polar Bear was cooler than the other side of the pillow.Fisher caught himself some big stats. Now that is out of the way there is no denying Fisher was a small school phenom by simply looking at his stats. Bracken finished the regular season 8-2 and hosted a home playoff game on the back of Fisher's domination. 7. LB/RB Braden Murphy, Monroe County https://www.hudl.com/profile/7895560/Braden-Murphy 2017: 80 carries, 367 yards, 5 TD's 28 receptions, 213 yards, 6 TD's 115 Tackles, 5 Fumble Recoveries, Interception Monroe County always seems to be that little engine that could who seemingly makes a deep playoff push out of nowhere with a roster full of guys who just play hard nosed football. The Falcons stunned Lloyd Memorial and reached the Regional Finals and although most people learned the name Ty Mink, Murphy certainly was a guy stirring the water. Murphy has an incredible nose for the football and an ability to be in the play when it becomes a game changing moment. Expect another big year in 2018. csafootball
The Tillman kid from Frankfort can play. Anyone have any details on him.
Pi
Seconded on both Swartz and Fisher. Either one could play (and would contribute heavily) at a bigger school. Both hard nosed and athletic. Great ball players.
DevilMayCare
This would get a like from me just for the 'Spaceballs' reference alone. Gunnur Lewis is a good pick for this list. He could blow up on the 1A scene this year. Paintsville certainly knows who he is. I think a lot of others will too after this year.
