Congratulations to Franklin County's Madelyn Brown and Western Hills Miranda Buchanan for making the squad. They both have represented the City of Frankfort well. On top of being named KY all-stars Brown was named 11th Region POY and Buchanan was named Class 2A POY.

I know that Hicks and Watkins from Franklin County did not play because they had finals week at school this past week. Franklin County Public Schools last day of school was just this Friday. Would have loved to see these two play. I believe Guidiguli left for school already.

Coach Kelley will be successful at West Jess. The Colts should compete for another 12th region title. Good luck to Kelley and good hire by WJ.

Owensboro Catholic played like a state champion throughout the two-day tournament. Congrats to OC on the state championship and congrats to Mercy on a great year. Great tournament put on by the KHSAA and the City of Owensboro.

Franklin County's suprising run ends. I couldn't be prouder of a group of girls. Finishing 3rd in the 41st District and overcoming all adversity to be playing on the final day of high school softball is amazing. This was the Lady Flyers best finish in school history in making it to the final six. It was a joy to watch you girls play and was a great ride. The Seniors catcher Madelyn Brown, shortstop Abby Davis and left fielder Kelly Hogan will be sorely missed.

Great game to watch. Christian County fans were not happy after the game to say the least. Congratulations to the Colonels on a good season.

Jody Demling is reporting that Jenkins is most likely headed to prep school.

Weaver plays for Class A Frankfort High School. He has been clocked in the low 4.4's and he recently won the Class A 100 and 200 at last weeks state meet. Weaver is the real deal and UofL got a good one.

Very suprised to see Lauren Doll not seeded in girls singles as she has 2 head to head victories over girls seeded. Also I was suprised to see North Oldham's girls doubles team seeded so high at fifth. Nice to see Henry Clay's Bradley Merchant seeded after such an injury last year..

This one was a bit of a suprise, but history favored FC in this one. Heck of a game to watch, one of the best softball games I have seen in a long time. Coach Spickard seems to have the Lady Flyers playing their best ball at the right time. Congrats to WHHS on a great season.

Suprise in the 41st District. I figured Hills and Franklin County would meet up in the championship. Hats off to Woodford County for keeping their season alive. Congrats to Hills on a great regular season.

Trae Golden is the real deal. He will be one I will be focused on at the 2009 KOB.

I believe Adam Dempsey from Highlands will be walking on at UC. Ivan Lee of Belfry is going to play at Georgetown along with Van Isaac from Harrison County and Chris Douglas from Dunbar. Zach Lewis from Clay County is headed to Morehead State. That is all that I know.

Franklin County guard Barrett Meyer and Lexington Catholic guard Taylor Botkin are headed to play basketball for the Pioneers. I want to thank Barrett for all the memories, I've watched you grow as a player since you were a young sprout. Congratulations and I am sure you will be a fantastic college basketball player.

Frye is cares about not only football, but loves the fact that the kids get a great education. The coaching staff at Centre is all about preparing the kids for the future.

Franklin County Offensive Lineman Oakley Watkins signed with Centre College today in the school's media center. He picked them over South Alabama, Texas A&M-Commerce, North Carolina Tech and preferred walk-on deals at UK and Troy. Watkins was 2nd team all-state while he maintained a 3.95 GPA.

Congrats to the Lady Flyers. Coach Spickard seems to have this team on a roll. Hampton is an absolute star on the mound.

Franklin County catcher Madelyn Brown has signed with the Georgetown Lady Tigers. Congratulations Madelyn and I wish you the best. Thanks for all the memories on the softball diamond and the basketball hardwood. You're one the FC family will really miss. I believe she wants to major in Education.

Franklin County put on a great tournament this weekend. North Laurel is the real deal and are a great group of girls. They were very polite throughout the weekend and seemed like a very mature team.

If you make contact there is always a chance of getting on base especially with the overall team speed of the Flyers.
