West 20 East 3 Kentucky East/West Allstars

Featured Replies

Before you know it the East will be bailing on this game like Tennessee.

The game wasn't as close as 20-3.

Speed beats size once again.

West outgains East 210-166 and has three takeaways, incuding two INTs by West MVP Coutland Dillard (Apollo).

Bell County's Tyler Harbin (nine tackles) is the East MVP.

Was DL Kody Rosenhagen the only Highlands player to participate? Did he play in the game?

The problem is that there are too many all star games now and I know that several kids didn't show up. I heard that a few from Highlands didn't and I would say that they were playing in the the NKY all star game.

Congrats to Tyler Harbin from Bell County he was a beast on the D-line.

Funny, that is the exact thing Tennessee said as their reason to quit playing. The west had just as many kids elect not to play as the east.

No one from Highlands was at the game. The East had at least five kids not show up to play.

I would guess the attendance at around 1000. So that was somewhat better than last year.

The West had at least 5 players not play that were D1 signees (Courtney Dalcourt, Jamariel Brown, Ridge Wilson, Josh Carter, Dominic Mainello).

Wasn't the KY/TN All Star Game attendance much larger than this, I thought it was at least 3500. I don't think this is comparable replacement evidently.

If they really wanted to make this a true east/west matchup then the split should be geographical instead KHSAA district placement.

Not sure you could get it much better than regions 1-4 being the west and 5-8 being the east. There are a few abberations such as Beechwood being in the west while the other northern Kentucky schools are in the east. Or Danville being in the west while Boyle is in the east. Louisville is split right down the middle with X in the west and T in the east.

When you say "not show up to play," do you mean these players were on the final roster but no-showed for the game (as opposed to being invited and declining)?

That has to be one of the great geographical abberatons.

I'm pretty sure Guiduigli was named to the team and declined the invitation. Rosenhaus was on the last roster published before players began to arrive this week. He was not at the game.

As far as attendance goes, there were 300 people in Louisville last year. I think they will take the increase this year.

Yes, but what was the attendance when it was played at Commonwealth/Neyland?
