The East had the best skilled players the west had the best Linemen no one could block Mister Cobble. Glad UK has him great job Chuck Smith!!!!!!!!

I am sure their colleges did not want some of them to play but also they had to pay 200 dollars to play,while in some of the other games they did not.

The best players do not get invited ,to many coachs pick their favorites and do not send the best ,people are not going to pay to watch anything but the best I no for a fact Mason counties best players have been left out the last 2 years.

The team is chosen by a committee. Even when I was the head coach and also when our 2003 team was loaded we/I did not get everyone on the team from Mason that was nominated and recommended. This includes both Tolle and Thompson.

 

I was a member of the committee in 03 and 04. I know for a fact that the head coach or individual coach does not always get every player he wants.

 

Please apply the million dollars to our turf project. With the extra we will get to work on an indoor facility.

As far as the Mason County comment goes, Terreance Breckinridge was on the East team and David Buchanan was on the coaching staff.

 

I know that Hicks and Watkins from Franklin County did not play because they had finals week at school this past week. Franklin County Public Schools last day of school was just this Friday. Would have loved to see these two play. I believe Guidiguli left for school already.

Well, I for one can definitely understand why some of the "high-end" players don't participate... those guys who are set to play college ball are: A. busy getting ready for football at the next level (collegiate), and B. probably not wanting to take a chance on getting hurt in a basically meaningless game.

 

I would think this kind of event would have the most amount of meaning for players (and the families of such players) who will not be playing organized football anymore, since it's one last chance to play a "real" game of football.

Out of all the players who chose to not play in the State East/West Game, I wonder how many did play in their Regional All-Star Games.

The losing team in allstar games always complains about the players that chose not to play and how they would have made a difference. The west had more high end players not play than the east and still dominated the game.

I know that Monte Merrick from Bell County is all ready at Western taking classes and couldn't play because he would lose eligibility. Spencer Greer is playing baseball. I know that they let them know in plenty of time to get replacements.
