  1. Not of Patrick Cornett's caliber. They have athletes galore every year, but Cornett had a special qualities. Also Station is still huge upfront but they do not have alot of experience on offense. Darrian Miller vs. Corey Rogers looks to be a very interesting 1 on 1 matchup tonight.
  2. Fern Creek supposedly lost a scrimmage to Valley which if so, should shake things up in 6A. That is very surprising. Granted only a glorified practice but interesting still.
  3. All signs point to Shaw being full go tonight.
  4. Anyone know the status of Eric Shaw, did not play against Shelby Co. last week, his absence or presence will have a huge impact on this game.
  5. Bryan Station has a very impressive roster again this season. They really do have the size upfront of a college team. In my opinion GRC has to match the physicality of BS to compete. I really don't think Station has anyone capable of matching what Cornett gave them last year, but who knows they may have another RB waiting in the wings.
  6. St. Xavier 33 Henry Clay 20 Henry Clay is a lot better than some on here think. Their weakness is inexperience at QB, but he may be the fastest in the state.
  7. Great Game!! Two teams with something to prove. Harmon vs. Sayre. Not to mention Coach Walton 30 years prior. Great Week 0 game which should tell alot about the city this year.
  8. Central vs. Henry Clay @ TCHS Shelby Co. vs. Bryan Station @ TCHS
  9. Shelby Co. won the varsity part 28-0. Eric Shaw did not play for Lafayette.
  10. All of the teams in Region 7 and 8 are "down" this year(in comparison to the last couple of years) except Dunbar and Tates Creek and neither of those two have had success as of late. Lafayette also lost their OC recently which has hurt them. To me Trinity and St. Xavier seems to be the logical choice as well. If a I had to name a true darkhorse this year I would like to throw Conner out there, I believe they have a one of the best players nobody really talks about in Nick West.
  11. If they really wanted to make this a true east/west matchup then the split should be geographical instead KHSAA district placement.
  12. How do the Boyle freshmen look this year?
  13. It always depends on the individual who is being added to the staff. I have seen both examples. Just because you played at a high level doesn't mean you can articulate or instruct others to play in the same manner. To answer the comment that was quoted, I have seen coaches with pro experience try and treat high school KIDS like adults and it always ends with disastrous results (i.e. screaming and yelling at kids, teaching a blocking scheme that worked great in the pros but for 14-18 kids flat out isn't realistic for them to learn or execute). The best coaches are the ones who develop relationships with the players.
  14. If Austin Collinsworth puts up big numbers at Highlands as a Running Back and they win the state title I believe he will win it.
  15. He got a job back in Virginia.
  16. There are some good matchups in the first ever Fayette Co. Invitational Bryan Station vs. Shelby Co. Tates Creek vs. Mercer Co. Dunbar vs. Butler Lafayette vs. Boone Co. Henry Clay vs. Lou. Central
  17. Bryan Station was not a young team. far from it. Apparently you don't study your opponents. Also there is no reason to take offense, I've seen Bryan Station play more times than probably 99.9 % on this board. Bryan Station lost A TON from last year, that is fact. With all that D-1 talent they won 6 games. You are not the only one talking them up, many people have been jumping on the band wagon, I just don't see it. They lost Philon, Suter, Childrey, McCann, Blackburn, Saifullah, Cornett and many others this will be a rebuilding year for them, Scott Co. is the team to beat in that weight class.
  18. I'm completely not buying Bryan Station as a contender. Since 1999 they continually get less out of their talent than anyone in Lexington. No one produces D-1 talent like Station and then underperforms. They play one good half against Highlands and then everyone jumps on the band wagon.
  19. Hazard Adair Co. Graves Co. Corbin Lexington Catholic Holmes Shelby Valley Elliott Co. Hazard Corbin Lexington Catholic Elliott Co. Corbin Elliott Co. Corbin TB 143
  20. If you want to be the best you have to beat the best. Neither team has time to whine about they just have to go out and play, Lexington Catholic has looked very beatable this year. In fact I think PLD wins both games.
  21. That's wrong, TC didn't play Friday night. The first time PLD played TC they won by 14, the second time they lose by 1, the first time they played Male they lost by 2, the second time they played they won by 13, they have also beaten PRP. They are improving as they mature, if that doesn't fit the definition of making a move, then what does? PLD has a senior domianted lineup, TC a sophomore one, who should win? Especially if Dunbar is the top-15 team everyone thinks they are.
  22. 43rd is also really tough. Lexington Catholic Lexington Christian Paul Dunbar Tates Creek Lafayette
  23. McCreary Central Lexington Catholic Madisonville Knott County Central Hazard Manual Clark County Trinity Lexington Catholic Madisonville Hazard Clark County Lexington Catholic Hazard Lexington Catholic TB-110
  24. Does anyone have the schedule for tomorrow when the games begin?
