Bowl Games - Good Match-ups

Featured Replies

What are the good bowl game match-ups out there this fall?

In the Toyota of Hopkinsville Jerry Claiborne Bowl at the Stadium of Champions in Hopkinsville -

Hopkinsville vs. Clarksville, TN (This was a long time cross state annual rivalvry until the early 90s when the schools stopped playing)

Christian Co vs. Franklin, TN (The most interesting match-up pits two teams who both went to the state finials last year. Former Hopkinsville coach Craig Clayton returns to Hoptown as the coach of the Franklin Rebels to face his long time assistant Steve Lovelace)

Bell County opens with Alcoa Tn., defending state champion 3 or 4 years running now in the city-county bowl on Log Mtn.

Bardstown at North Hardin in the Joe Jaggers Classic should be interesting.

I'd be a little leary of Alcoa fulfilling the contract and ever playing the game.

6A North Hardin against 2A Bardstown should not be interesting at all.

They contract has all ready been signed. Hilton and Rankin have been coaching buddies for years and this game will happen you can take it to the bank.

Don't be too sure about that. Bardstown holds its own against much larger schools quite regularly.

Definately happening. Haha, let's hear complaints about schedule strength now:sssh:. Is the Johnson Central game a bowl game as well or just a regular game? 2 consecutive undefeated reg. seasons for Bell Co, undefeated state champs last year, IMO Bell should have an even better team this comming year. I heard the other day over the past 4 or so years alcoa has lost only to Maryville, which well, I'm sure everyone knows about Maryville. This one should be a good one from start to finish:ylsuper:

It is a good start. Even Bell County fans can't dismiss the weak schedule the past 3-4 years, regardless of how the opposing teams were supposed to be good. Not to turn this into that kind of thread though.

Harlan County vs. Southwestern Pulaski will be a good matchup in the Ray Correl Bowl in Somerset.

If Alcoa had the players they've had in the past Bell won't keep it close. They're on another level athletically.

Bell County also plays Marion County in the Marion County Pigskin Classic. Should be a great matchup of 4A teams.

The contract was signed to play Hopkinsville in the Trigg Co. bowl 3 years ago and Alcoa pulled out of the game at the end of June.
