6A football in Lexington is in a state of flux right now. 3 of the 5 schools have new coaches this year(PLD,TC,LAF) and two of three schools (PLD and TC) are implementing different systems than were run in years past. Henry Clay will be good this year but they lost a ton of talent last year and the replacements however talented are not on par with the '07 senior class. I really feel like the coaching changes in Lexington were good for all schools in invloved and the future looks promising as of right now. But I do believe that football in Lexington is way down from the late 90's.

1. Hazard winning the 1A state championship (my dad played there). 2. Bourbon Co. to get back on the right track. 3. Butler rebounds and has a nice season, Coach Carmony's a nice guy.

A couple junior lineman to watch are: Burt Mingey (sp?) from Lafayette around 6'7 or 6'8 OL Dan Arthur Tates Creek 6'2 315 DL

Also Witt and Hayden from Lexington Christian, but those guys seem like they have been around forever.

Not true, Tates Creek is in extreme south Lexington, take Man-O-War to Richmond its a straight shot to I-75. If its heavy traffic it would take just as long to travel to Bryan Station as Madison Central based upon the bus routes Fayette Co. drivers take. Tates Creek and Henry Clay are extremely close to one another. Tates Creek Middle School is almost a 50/50 split between TCHS and HCHS.

For those of us who aren't aware of the rift between Coach Brown and other coaches could you elaborate as to the cause.

Still when it matters most all of the teams in Louisville are chasing the big 3. Manual also has had a plethora of talent the last few years (they should be competitive) and all public schools have talent that runs in waves strong periods then lulls. When I was in High School and played for Tates Creek we hammered Trinity only to turn around and get crushed by Male in the state championship game and Trinity twice in the next 3 years. The last few years Tates Creek has ranged from terrible to good. Public Schools are like that, I expect TC's fortunes to change in the next few years with Mike Harmon as the new head coach. The Big 3 are head and shoulders above reveryone else. Fern Creek, Southern and Eastern would be mediocre in Lexington just like they are in Louisville, Ballard is a crap shoot who knows with them, they look like world beaters one game and terrible the next. For those who have never met Jason Howell you will be surprised. His offensive play calling talents were stymied by an outdated offensive mindset, he will be good coach if PLD gives him a chance and doesn't panic.

Trinity, St. Xavier and Male are on another level. Beyond that Lexington's schools are just as good as Louisville schools in 6A. What have the other Louisville schools done recently of note? The answer is the same as the Lexington 6A schools, nothing. The biggest misnomer is that Lexington 6A schools can't compete with Louisville 6A schools when in reality no one competes with Trinity (in the playoffs recently) and St. Xavier and Male is just a notch below but well infront of other Louisville schools.

Tates Creek had one last night also with Montgomery Co. and East Jessamine

East Jessamine is also supposed to show up.

There will be a 7 on 7 at TC tomorrow, which teams will be there? I've heard that Montgomery and Breathitt Co. will any others?

Coach Howell was the offensive coordinator and OLB's coach at Tates Creek. He also played on the back to back Pikeville HS state championship team. He also teaches Social Studies and if the head coach had to fit a vacancy then this was one that PLD had.

I watched Hazard play Cumberland last year and must agree they have a lot of talent. Who are some of the top Louisville players this year?

I think they should hire Chris Tracy from Woodford he is familiar with the situation and has proven he can win at Woodford Co. That is if he is interested in the position.

West Jessamine has hit rock bottom recently and they play in a very tough district but I think Coach Wood will eventually get the Colts turned around. I think they will be vastly improved however it may not show record wise.

I think Lafayette is slated to attend as well.
