Second Round: Paul Dunbar @ Henry Clay
Henry Clay is on fire right now. I really don't think PLD will be able to score enough to keep them in it. Also the game last week was an emotional exhausting battle versus a hated city opponent. I give PLD all the credit in the world for coming up big when it counts, but HC is a totally different beast and their key players rested alot in the second half of last weeks game.

Madison Central 27 George Rogers Clark 14 (6A)
Both of MC's first half TD's came off of GRC turnovers. If GRC had held on to the ball this would have been a different game. MC got beat up front on both sides of the ball. Tatum Lewis and #'s 76 and 79 were in MC's backfield all night. MC won because their punter consistently turned the filed over with his booming kicks and Rhodes and Simpson made a ton of individual plays.

Paul L Dunbar 8 Lafayette 0 (6A)
Lafayette quit late against Trinity. I'm still surprised that they turned in this type of effort, especially after last year's debacle vs. Woodford Co.

Paul L Dunbar 8 Lafayette 0 (6A)
I knew PLD had more talent but I still didn't think they would win. Good Job Bulldogs.

Madison Central vs. Clark Co. Updates???
I left late in the 4th and it was MC 27 GRC 14

Paul L Dunbar 8 Lafayette 0 (6A)
A Defensive TD and a safety are the difference.

Paul Dunbar @ Lafayette
Lafayette needs to rebound quickly. PLD gave them everything they wanted in matchup #1. If you put these guys side by side and compared the Dunbar is bigger looks stronger and looks more athletic. That being said, I think Lafayette is the better team and will win a tough one. Lafayette 26 PLD 17

Evarts @ Hazard
This will be business as usual for the 2007 edition of the Hazrd Bulldogs. Coming off an emotional win over a former coach, the Bulldogs will come out a tad bit flat. After the first quarter I'm going Hazard 7--Evarts 6 The second quarter will see Hazard pull it together a little bit more, Hazard will lead 21-13 at half. Thethird will mark the re-arrival of Hazard's offense they will get a Delpont FG and two Campbell TD's. Hazard 38-13 after 3. The fourth quarter will feature reserves and both teams will hit paydirt once. Hazard 45 Evarts 19

George Rogers Clark (GRC) at Madison Central - predictions
I like GRC in this one. It seems like Madison Central has kind of packed it in for the second straight year.

Bell County 35 Tates Creek 20
Tates Creek may have double the male enrollment, but Bell Co., had more players on their team. I'm sorry I know this is going to upset the plethora of Bell Co. posters on here but if Bell Co wins 4-A this year, 4-A is terrible. Tates Creek starts 3 freshmen and anywhere from 6-9 sophomores, and 4-5 Jr's. This is the worst TC team ever. Bell Co., barely won and before you go whining about officiating, TC also had their bad share of calls. Ty Sparks ran over Bell Co's defense. What will Shane Israel and Greg Raglin do? Bell Co. congrats on a hard fought physical win, you should be proud about coming to Lexington and beating a larger school. But an honest assessment of someone who has seen a lot of football this year tells me a state title is out of reach. I love hard nosed ball as much as anyone else, but TC had no trouble getting the corner on Bell Co., and I would describe the Creek as the one of the least athletically gifted teams in the state. Yet they still had more team speed. Personally, if Bell Co. wants to beat Catholic the best chanve is with #2 at QB he is better, becasue he gives you guys another option which is a dual threat QB. Before I end this message, I know I've made some people mad, but the 3rd round and beyond of the playoffs are a diferent world than McCreary Central and the like. I hope you guys dominate Lexington Catholic and everyone and bring a title home to the mountains, but after seeing the TC game, there are a lot of things to work on.

With 5 min. left in the 4th. I had to leave, Bell Co. was only winning 28-20 and that was mainly due to TC's customary turnovers.
