If all of the favorites make it out of their regions this would be one heck of a tournament. I cant remember one that would be better from top to bottom. I would love to see rematch of Elliot against Shelby Valley.

Holy Cross has stretched it out to about 25. Interesting side note is the use of a shot clock.

Halftime Holy Cross 36 Valley 23 Valley was down 3 with about three minutes to go in the half and Holy Cross went on a run. Holy Cross has a kid named Sylvan Landesberg who is going to Virginia next year who is giving Valley trouble on both ends of the floor. The radio announcer said Holy Cross is ranked 5th in the state of New York in Double A.

The basketball IQ of this team is very high. I think Valley felt like they didnt play to their potential last year in the state tourney and they have a chip on their shoulder to show that they can play with teams outside the mountains. They have a win over Ashland, Male, DeSales, and sounds like they played a good game against J-town. They have very good gaurds and are extemely unselfish as Ol Dad eluded too. Glad to see that you guys are at least talking about this.:thumb:

Is Elliot in the WYMT broadcast area? I think the Mountain Top 10 is a ranking of their broadcast area.

The radio announcers said it was the best game in December they had seen in a while. Nip and tuck the whole game. I know there was about 5 lead changes in the final couple of minutes. Male had the ball last with 9 seconds and a foul was called with 1.1 seconds left. The announcers didnt like the call but they were probably leaning toward Valley. The Male player and I cant remember his name missed both and Valley comes away with the win. :thumb:

Shelby Valley has not been tested yet. We know they are the favorite in the 15th and one of the best teams in the mountains. Saturday against Male will tell us a whole lot about this team.

For anyone looking for more than ballgames. The Landmark is a nice clean hotel. It has a nice restauraunt on the top floor and a bar. Also a nightclub (Mark II). Next door to a bank and Jerry's restauraunt. :thumb:

Overated?

This is a good young team. Sometimes bad habits and injuries can happen in those blowout victories. Again there is nothing wrong with beating a team to death but dont sell me that playing your best players up 30 is learning experience and getting them ready for better teams. Good Luck to Elliot!

Where was this game played?

Chirico's is downtown short walk from Expo. Glad to see people from from other parts of the state to come into town. Pikeville is growing and with new buildings and the college expansion is becoming a very nice town. The Expo Center is beautiful place for a basketball game. Enjoy and Good Luck to all teams.

How many kids are Belfry missing for football?

This team's very good and fun to watch but I have to wonder if they can live up to their fans expectations.

I was taught to play any sport I wanted but once I started I had to finish! NO QUESTION!

1. Shelby Valley 2. Paintsville 3. Pikeville Paintsville should be #1 but they have not been able to get it done.

Those Virgie teams of the late 70's and early 80's would have beat the 94 Allen Central team by 20. JMO and I did see both teams play.
