With the holiday tournament season coming to a close, it's time to start thinking about the upcoming Class A.

 

Who are the favorite prospects from the various regions?

16th: Elliott,...........Bath Co., Rose Hill

15th: Paintsville, Shelby Valley

Somerset is likely the slight favorite in the 12th Region over Danville. Burgin and Monticello are the other two regional participants.

10th - St. Pats, Deming, and Brossart

9th - NewCath, St. Henry, Holy Cross, and possibly Beechwood

I consider the following to be standout favorites to win their regionals and then vie for the "A" State Title.

Lexington Christian in Region 11

June Buchanan in Region 14

Elliot County in Region 16

8th- Gallatin has played some good basketball this year. Beat big schools and look for them to make a good run in the All A!

After Elliott's run in the 5/3rd, you've got to like their chances on winning it all. I thought last year's runner-up Bardstown returned a lot this year?

Can they overcome the loss of Edmondson and be a major factor in Richmond???

Justin Edelen, Wenquel Graves (big loss), and Justin Rogers.

13th Region - Cumberland is the favorite and if they take care of business they will be capable of competing with anyone in Richmond. They were there last year, got a win then lost a hard fought game in the quarter finals to Hazard by 1. They only lost one starter and they added a very good 6'4" power forward to the mix.

Although Edmondson was a factor to last years success, he was one of MANY factors. Alot of people have wrongly assumed that Gallatin was carried by one or two players last season, which is incorrect. I am sure my friend Mack the Knife could recite some statistics from his photographic memory to back this up.

FBD, Mustang probably saw only one game in which Gallatin played last year. In that one game, Edmondson was a factor. It is amuzing to me to see guys like this post on here and think they know all about a team, or a certain player based off of one or at the most 2 games. :irked:

 

Take the game against Holmes last night for example. If Mustang watched that game, he might be here today saying the Maddox was not very good. We know different. Maddox played very well within the game and did not force things. He did not have the big scoring game that we were accustomed to seeing him have, but he got many others involved. A true team player in my opinion.
