I'll take Elliot Co and June Buchanon to win it all.

Gallatin should be a lock in the 8th playing at home. I look for them to bring home the big trophy from Richmond.:thumb:

I would say Gallatin is the favorite for the 8th region, and a top 5 team in Richmond.

Considering Elliott has a good draw they shoud win or at least get close.

Have you seen Elliott's draw? Raceland is a vrey dangerous team, and if they get past that Rose Hill is capable of upsetting them. Then out of the lower bracket either Fairview or Bath will give them a close game. All five teams can potentially win.

I think Elliott is the favorite, of course, but I don't know if there is a good draw in this region.

Are you sure about Raceland they seemed over matched in the Lloyd Memorial tournament?

They are a senior dominated team and very athletic. They have one of the best big men in the region, and very good guard play. I think if Elliott overlooks them they may be beat. I also think Mayes is smart enough not to overlook them.

Fairview Eagles to be the upset winner in the 16th.:scared:

Could they be a sleeper?

Gallatin Co. should win the 8th since it is on their home court. They should win their 1st round game at EKU but I don't see them beating the winner of the 3rd or 14th Region (Owensboro Cath, June Buchanan or Hazard). Look for Hazard to come out of that bracket.

1-3 in the tourney, with the only win vs. a 3-10 team; doesn't sound like exactly a dominating performance?? The narrow loss to a decent Beechwood team wasn't bad though.

It's always been a co-ed enrollment of 425 or less in grades 10-12, or the equivilent for all boys or girls schools. I know they passed a change to try and get the smallest 125 or so schools into the tourney, but I'm not sure if that takes effect this year or not?
