I am starting a new thread because the old thread title was misleading with the change of coaches at NKU. Ben has an offer at Bellarmine. Ben has taken unofficial visits to EKU, SC Upstate, and Furman. Ben is receiving a lot of attention from some very impressive academic schools up east including Boston U. Young man has options.

^^^ Another typical response from you. I don't understand why you feel the need to defend, explain, or invite others to make it happen. It's really this simple -- there are games in nearly every other sport in N Ky. Why not boys' basketball?

So why is boys basketball so much different than every other sport holding the game. Plain and simple - it is about putting forth the effort. Take a look at the football rosters this week. The "best" players aren't suiting up for that game either, but there will be plenty of kids on the field. Just because Bolden or McDonald may choose not to play doesn't mean the other 50 or so seniors in N Ky wouldn't have appreciated the coaches making the effort. I got one sitting in the other room at my house that would have loved the experience of playing with the other seniors from other schools.

This isn't about attendance. These games don't draw the casual fan. Those that attend are parents, grandparents, and siblings. It wouldn't be a major fundraiser but it surely would cover expenses. Its about the coaches being organized and giving the seniors an opportunity to play together one last time. Football, baseball, and girls basketball coaches think its important enough to make it happen.

So in the N Ky area we have had the girls basketball Sr and Jr games on June 7th. The baseball games are scheduled for June 15th and the football game is scheduled for June 11th. Seems as though all these other coaches of the other sports have found the time, venue, and players available to make these games happen. Maybe needs to be an agenda item at the next boys' basketball coaches association meeting - the rest of the N KY coaches making you guys look bad.

I think Highland is up there in N Ky. Close to Connor I think.

You have quite a few BGP dads that have graduated the last two years. Will be up to BBW, JOAT, and a few others to keep us informed.

Game 2 just ended at 9:30 Greenup 5 Lawrence 2

Searched the KHSAA site and it states no contest may be started after 11 pm local time. Maybe the third game can be played tonight.

Looks like there is going to have to be another schedule change. Lawrence - Greenup game is still in the bottom of the 5th at 8:45. I was told that games will not proceed past 11 pm - so if game three ever gets started, it must complete by 11 pm or resume the following morning. Can anyone confirm the 11 pm rule??

First round games always very dangerous for the "favorites". Highlands got the best draw for a game 1 opponent. Purnell, Ziegelmeyer, and Moeves very capable of throwing a gem and sending one them favorites home early.

Making an argument for your favorite player by tearing down another is a tired act we see all too often on this board. Ben Weyer's outside game is pretty well defined for a 6'7" high school player. He hasn't had to exploit his size advantage playing along side Schulte and McDonald the last two seasons. Defensively, he is as good a shot blocker as we have seen in N Ky in a long time.

My opinion is this job will be filled by a para professional or a coach already drawing from the KTRS.

Bellevue Independent Schools with its declining enrollment has decided to do away with their PE program as a cost saving measure. They aren't creating a job position for a football coach. I believe that would be financially counter productive.

Since its for next season, let's get back to the future.

I'm going to take a shot at this one........ I think tbird is referring to the dads that coached quite a few of the current seniors in knothole and then Southwest Ohio leagues as they grew up. The team name was the Wildcats. Jones, Martin, Whitford, and Henigan are the fathers that come to mind that developed a strong group of ballplayers. Hope I didn't miss anyone.

Thanks for the clarification Q. Still seems like a reach with all the talent returning from varsity and the talent that played JV for a frosh player to jump all those other kids. Good problems to have in Park Hills. #dynasty

With all the talent currently in the CCH program that is returning....... you've got an 8th grader from Ohio in the rotation:popcorn:

With a lack of vertical size, HHS will play a lot of non-traditional line-ups. May have 4 guards or 5 guards/forwards on the floor for a good part of the game. I can see a rotation of 10 kids depending on the match up. Losing Traylor is a big deal as he was one of only a few basketball only kids. The struggle again will be that almost all these boys will be joining the basketball team after the conclusion of football. My thoughts of potential starters and their backup: PG - Posey - New 2G - Kendall - Green SF - Cain - Noe PF - Dougherty - Lafrange C- Hebel - Finfrock

I think the title of the thread is a very valid question/statement.. Back to back regional titles. Return a D1 player and other varsity contributors. A very successful JV team made up sophomores and freshmen only. An undefeated very deep frosh team. A pipeline that is being discussed all the way down to the 8th grade. Why is everyone so afraid to look at the facts and see what lies ahead. The potential for a dynasty is real. It's not arrogant. It's not setting the program up for failure. It's looking at the results the boys in the CCH program have achieved and extrapolating that out through their high school careers. CCH supporters need to embrace and enjoy it, not downplay it. I do enjoy the comparisons of CCH success being on the verge of a dynasty to the attractiveness of a female Bruce Jenner. LOL.

On the eve of the 9th region semi's I happened upon this thread from the archives. Pretty neat to read through the list and see which of the frosh from 2012 have excelled. Quite a few names on the list have had great high school careers, while some of the names are not even familiar to me. A couple of kids switched schools, one of them more than once.

Yesterday in the girls 9th region semi's. Sorry I guess you meant boys.
