I think it will be decided by how the officials call the game. These two teams are evenly matched.

I'm not sure who is running the show at the Regional, or who is calling the shots. However, the person(s) who decided to refuse to honor Emily Queen, and rejected the request to take 60 seconds to present her a plaque needs to be identified. I hope many Letters To The Editor are submitted and published to bring to the public's attention the stupidity and mean spirited nature of this decision.

Great Win tonight for the Lady Royals! You held you cool well down the stretch when East Carter tried their best to upset you. Best of luck tomorrow aagainst Russell. Rebound well and you will repeat as 16th Regional Cchamps!

Emily definitely needs to be recognized for her outstanding accomplishments and records she holds in the Region. I hope someone in authority is reading this post and making sure it happens !

This type of poor sportsmanship has no place in basketball or any other sport. The coach, principal and/or athletic director should have all nipped it in the bud. Technicals should have been called if the didn't stop after a warning, and if it continued then security should have removed them from the gym. There is no excuse for the school officials to allow this type of behavior!

This should be a fun tournament to watch, with a number of potentially good match ups. While it is somewhat wide open, I like the Lady Royals. They have improved each of their last few games and seem to be peaking at the right time.

A great team effort by the Lady Royals! Congratulations, and good luck at the Regionals next week. Just for the record, "KONAKID" said the boys have never won a District title. I thought the boys won the Ddistrict one year when O.J. was there, and another year with O.J. they lost the District, but won at Morehead. Maybe Scooterbob or Ricky P can advise us.

Well said, Fastbreak! I think Ashland will win, but there is no "quit" in Fairview. They will give it their best and it could be a good game. Ashland better not be looking ahead.

Rose Hill should cruise to a win if they play well. The Coaches need to play Emily even if she gets into early foul trouble. I doubt if the coach can afford the luxury of leaving Emily on the bench too long.

43 points is probably the lowest total points scored by Rose Hill all season. Jackson played a solid game on offense and defense. Euton's three pointers kept Rose Hill close in the first half, but he couldn't maintain it the second half. Other than Euton and Jackson, no one else showed up to play for R.H.

16th Region - I would agree with Scooterbob. If Russell wins, it would be Fortman; if Rose Hill wins, most likely Queen.

I guess you would have to classify Rose Hill as a long shot or Darkhorse.

O.J. Mayo - Rose Hill Christian School (6th grade through 9th grade, I think)

I don't understand the comments of Dawgdays. Surely, you are not finding fault with Rose Hill with respect to their schedule? They have tried to schedule all the teams in the region and as noted, many of them have refused for one reason or another, but primarily out of fear of getting beat. Rose hill, to my knowledge, has not refused to play any team in the region. I believe Coach Fraley is most deserving of the award as 16th Region coach of the year. His accomplishments speak for themselves. I can't think of any other coach in the region who should have it over Fraley. Rose Hill has definitely "justified" their presence in the 16th region !

Congratulations to Emily on all of your accomplishments! It has been fun and exciting to watch you play these last four years. You will be greatly missed and we wish you continued success on the court and in all you do.

This was a nice win for the Lady Royals. It should give them a boost going into post season play. Congratulations, Laura, on a super game. We're glad to see you're finally feeling better and getting some strength back.

Officiating is a tough, thankless job; it's definitely not worth the abuse and effort required for the small amount of pay. I think we all, myself included, tend to be too critical at times. I'd say high school officiating is more difficult than college and possibly the NBA as well. Maybe there should be some changes considered. I think three (3) officials may be one too many and can cause problems. Two who know their stuff can handle it fine. If there is a third official, maybe he/she should be in the stands or something and make a deciding ruling on a controversial call in certain situations. Just an idea for all you basketball gurus to consider. There is a great deal of dissatisfaction with the referees, especially at the high school level.

Great win for the Lady Royals ! Hopefully, this will give them some confidence and momentum going into tournament time. CONGRATULATIONS to Emily Queen on your accomplishments. You and the rest of the seniors will be missed on the hardwood at Rose Hill next season. Good luck in college play.

HHS won the game, but I do think they got the better of it with the officiating. Isn't this the way it often goes in games of this type? The home court team usually has the edge with the referees. Clearly, HHS is a much better team with O.J. Mayo. If O.J. had played tonight, I think HHS would have won by 15, or more, and that is not taking anything away from Scott County. I do think Scott Co. has the better coach.

I think the game is being braodcast on T.V. by WSAZ, either on their main channel or MYZ. I believe the broadcast time is 7:30 P.M. This one is tough to predict without O.J. playing. The fieldhouse is a rough place to play for the first time. Seems like the lighting on the floor is not that great. It could have an adverse effect on Scott Co.'s shooting for awhile. I look for both teams to be motivated. It should be a good game. I will predict Scott Co. in a close one, especially if Huntington High has to go to their bench.

This was a meaningful win for Rose Hill. You can be assured Boyd County wanted it just as much ! While Dakota and Chad were the stars, I agree Malloy and Arthur both had fine good games and made many contributions. I agree Malloy can make the Three's and he needs to take the shots when he is open.
