CougarsBestFan Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Who has the best chance to make a run deep in the 16th region and maybe win it?
kygirl Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Boyd County, they have beat Ashland and Russell each once. BC Lions play as a team and haven't been in the regionals in awhile. IMO think that they might be hungry enough to do it.
cvillecat Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 I wouldn't call Russell an underdog:D I agree. With their talent they should be the favorite. Welcome to BGP Bucksfan... Great avatar. Go Bucks
Dfenz Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Biggest underdog is probably Menifee County. The biggest DARKHORSE could be any number of teams - Boyd, East, Greenup and Rowan - to name a few. These four could upset any of the favorites - Russell, Elliott, Ashland - on any given night. Not sure they could run off three straight to win a regional championship.

scooterbob Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 I suspect that only one of the top three can and will beat one of the top three. It won't be a good year for Cinderellas. The draw will be important.

The draw will be important. I disagree with this. In high school basketball - I think anything and everything is possible.
UKCATSFAN Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Darkhorse----- I'd say Rowan County. The Daniels kid is good enough to carry a team to a regional crown. He's got a solid team surrounding him as well. Could be very dangerous or they could be out in the 1st round. Never know. Fairview has been playing well of late but it's been at home. I wonder if they can play well outside of their homecourt. They'll have to beat a very good Ashland team to even make it to Morehead. Probable... Maybe, Likely.... No way.
Lone Wolf Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 I guess you would have to classify Rose Hill as a long shot or Darkhorse.
