Bellevue cancels with Rose Hill

Featured Replies

Rose Hill's boy's and girl's varsity teams were scheduled to play Bellevue at home tomorrow. Bellevue called Rose Hill today and informed the school they could not make the trip.

I am not sure why they waited so late to make the call. Rose Hill could have picked up another game with someone else, if they would have called earlier.

Considering we went all the way up there last year to play in the "Nacho Cheese Palace" that stinks. I'd sever that relationship.

I bet Rose Hill is upset that they can't bring in another losing record team to "puff up" their home record and overall record. I hope somebody will put Rose Hill on their schedule next year to justify RH's presence in the 16th.

This game is not on either team's schedule on the KHSAA site.

It was on both sites, boys and girls, for both schools yeaterday.

Why do you feel the need to make such comments?

What is the point?

Rose Hill has not been able (to my understanding) to get people on their schedule that would justify their status in the 16th region. It must be because they have such talent in the freshmen and below grades. Other teams must be avoiding them now b/c of their upcoming future.

Now, FB what have I done wrong with my comments? I have clearly stated in other posts (16th region Coach of Year) that I just don't believe that Fraley is deserving of this award due to the wins Rose Hill has on their home court. My point is: The opponents winning percentage that Rose Hill has beaten on their home court is: 33%, 57-115 (as of 2/20 via Riherd's scoreboard) and Bellevue has a record of: 10-13.

With the exception of a two year run between 2001-2003, RH had their butts handed to them for the better part of two decades. The most notable feature of their first 20 seasons is they didn’t get in the habit of ducking stronger opponents... which was pretty much everyone. They just wanted to play. As a result, they were everybody's favorite homecoming date.

Fraley is starting an 8th grader, two freshmen, a sophomore and a junior. I’m sure he had no idea how strong they would be this season. I would imagine that somewhere between Mason County, Louisville Doss, Louisville Central, Washington D.C. Ballou, Louisville Ballard, Ashland, Boyd County, Cincinnati Oak Hills, Lexington Christian and others, he might have felt that his young team needed a few games they had a fighting chance to win.

If padding their record was the objective, they very likely could have been sitting on 20 wins tomorrow evening had they not let three opponents off the hook. You’re trying to make more out of this than there is to it.

I can assure you the Hill’s schedule will improve next year… possibly even to your satisfaction.

Would your team like to play? :D

I don't know where you got this information but let me give you the facts. The game with the boys team was scheduled for a date a little over a week ago on a date when the Bellevue Schools closed due to snow. The game was cancelled at that time as a result. There was never a make-up game rescheduled. Also, there never was any game involving the Bellevue girls team.

There was indeed some confusion earlier because a former coach scheduled the game, did not notify the AD and subsequently did not return as coach. But the scenario is as described above.

Nacho Cheese Palace that stinks. I like that!:jump:

I don't understand the comments of Dawgdays. Surely, you are not finding fault with Rose Hill with respect to their schedule?

They have tried to schedule all the teams in the region and as noted, many of them have refused for one reason or another, but primarily out of fear of getting beat. Rose hill, to my knowledge, has not refused to play any team in the region.

I believe Coach Fraley is most deserving of the award as 16th Region coach of the year. His accomplishments speak for themselves. I can't think of any other coach in the region who should have it over Fraley. Rose Hill has definitely "justified" their presence in the 16th region !

That took some real Class to make these comments.

The cancelled game was rescheduled for today. Bellevue called in December in an attempt to cancel the orgional date and Rose Hill refused. Then it snowed and now they have a conference game they have to play. If you ask me Bellevue has not dealt with Rose Hill is a very honest manner. We made they trip and they wouldn't follow through with the return visit, period.

Dawgdays, you have beautiful green eyes.

Dawg, come on, find some kindness in your heart. Rose Hill would love to play everyone in the region. However, Russell, Rowan Co., East Carter, Raceland, Greenup, and Elliott will not add them to their schedule.

Next season they will play Ashland, Boyd and Fairview home and away. They will have the toughest and most demanding schedule in the 16th region next season. Without a dout.
