Bellevue cancels with Rose Hill

Featured Replies

Dawg, come on, find some kindness in your heart. Rose Hill would love to play everyone in the region. However, Russell, Rowan Co., East Carter, Raceland, Greenup, and Elliott will not add them to their schedule.

Next season they will play Ashland, Boyd and Fairview home and away. They will have the toughest and most demanding schedule in the 16th region next season. Without a dout.

Not to mention The Marshall County Hoops Fest, King of the Bluegrass, a shootout in Nicholasville, Morgan County, Boone Co., Lexington Christian, and possibly Louisville Ballard.

But Gatorlover you and I know that no matter who Rose Hill plays there will always be those who take shots at them. Wait till we really start winning, then it will get seriously ugly.

Coach Fraley is a class act and if he were to win coach of the year would be very deserving. As a whole, the team has taken on all those who would schedule them and has played very well especially considering how young this team is. The future is VERY bright at Rose Hill and those trashing these young men and Coach Fraley will soon be eating a very large portion of crow.

It is unfortunate that Rose Hill will not have a game with Bellevue today. Both the girls and the boys need a game to help prepare for the tournaments. It didn't work out. I understand that the starting times would have had to be moved up considerably because of a church event at Rose Hill anyway. It would have been difficult for Bellevue to make it for a possible 11:00 am starting time for the first game. Conflicting events happen and cancellations happen.

Some smaller schools seem to schedule Rose Hill with the anticipation that Rose Hill will be weak. As Fastbreak stated, Rose Hill has usually been rather weak through the years. When they find out that the Royals have some talent, as they do this year and probably for the next six or seven years or so, those smaller schools have second thoughts and look for a way out.

I would suggest that Rose Hill, for the foreseeable future, not schedule any of these applicable smaller schools or, if scheduled, to include a hefty cancellation fine in the game contract.

Actually, this is probably a moot point since Rose Hill should, in the coming years, have no trouble scheduling games against top competition. Although far too high a price was paid (in my opinion), there will be, as mentioned above, two games each year with the other district teams.

As for COY, I'll vote for Tim Fraley- particularly if he grows a ponytail.

Rose Hill, you should make those contracts about $500 and those teams wouldn't do that. It's a shame teams do that.:ylsuper:

I do not know about the other schools, but Rose Hill dropped Elliott from their schedule last season forcing Elliott to locate a late replacement game. Don't put Elliott in the group "ducking" Rose Hill. Elliott played them every year through the Mayo times. The Royals ended that scheduling relationship.

Surely, this can't be.

That is sort of true. Rose Hill didn't want to open the season with Elliott which was somewhat of a tradition. Elliott had no where to move Rose Hill so they looked elsewhere.

I will agree that Elliott is not a ducker.

I dunno, the cats I know from out in God's country might duck every now and then, but they counter punch pretty hard too...

Why was Rose Hill so intent on moving the game to another date?
