  1. I dont know why everyone is suprised. Ashland never plays that well outside of the 16th. Could it be they miss the protection of the 16th regions finest striped shirts??
  2. I would call it a foul when those hands come across your wrists. You can call it what you want.
  3. If the refs dont start calling the reaching and hacking on Elliott Co. when they get in that vaunted press no one will beat the Lions in the 16th. Ive seen 4 of their games and Coach Mays must have some good stuff on those guys with the whistles!
  4. Im sorry to get the thread off track but I felt my post was something that needed to be placed on bgp. WE in the 16th more so than any other region like to tear down the players and teams of the area just to get at other posters or adults.
  5. I was listoning to the call in show the other night and must have heard more than a few callers complain about how today's UK players dont have enough love and respect for the uniform. You wont have that problem with DE. He will be a hard working productive Wildcat and love every min of it. Much like Farmer Feldhause Pelphrey Hanson and every other KY kid that puts on the blue and white. Its a sad day when a high school kid (who works his tail off)has to take crap from adults who never played the first min of college basketball (and for some high school ball). DE is under enormous pressure to perform every night he hits the floor. IF he has a bad game then he is not good enough to play at UK. IF he has 25 and 10 with 3 blocks like the other night well he is not playing any competition. Either way he cant win but despite that he works hard, has a great personality, and is the type of kid you hope your daughter brings home to meet you someday. We should all be behind a young man like that no matter if he is a Royal, Tomcat, Lion or any other area school. High school sports are for the young and not the adults who get out and try to trash a fine young man like DE. And dont try telling me that thats not what your doing ole happy dad because Im not that stupid.
  6. Are you trying to say that because Ashland beat a couple of cupcakes they werent ready to play a good team?
  7. They are really good and a joy to watch. I love the way the Faulkner boys play and T Knipp is a great looking prospect! All good kids too. A credit to the parents.
  8. I didnt see that game but it could be that Elliott Countys press took its toll on RC before they could get the ball into the big guy. Elliott has the best bunch of ball hawkers that Ive seen in a while. With Ethans ball handling and Timmy's shooting they will be hard to handle in the 16th.
  9. Ive been told that Kyle will transfer to GC. I even saw his dad wearing his old lettermans jacket around the grocery store the other day.
  10. I think you should go see Petit play before you say he is not in the top 15. He is a legit big man that had a great summer. I think he made the All Star team at Blue Chip camp and is a very legit college player at some level.
  11. I also hope that GC does well. From what Ive seen they have some fine young men wearing the green and gold. Congratulations to Coach Sammons and the football team for winning the District Championship. GO GC!
  12. Brother you need to get in touch with the political riff between bball and football at GC before you post a response on here. The kids at Greenup are and NEVER have been a priority. All the main political players at GC are old football hero's at GC. None were ever sucessfull in sports so they moved to administrative positions within the district including the Superintendents postion. GC needs a good cleansing!
  13. You have to be kidding me. How many other schools throw thier coach (hicks) and team under the bus three games into the season.
  14. Only 17-10?? With all the controversy that surrounded the GC program last year I think that was a great accomplishment for the kids and Coach Sutton. They should be praised and not questioned. Most kids would have packed it in and quit. Truthfully I think that was what the administration was wanting to happen.
  15. Greenup will NEVER be able to play the run and gun style of Coach Leach. The players are there this year like every year to play a strong half court game on both ends of the floor. No 16th region team has the athletes year end and year out to press for 32 min. Also the 16th is not a big AAU area so most kids are not playing year around which limits skill developement. Slow it down on offense, play a little d, rebound and GC is more than likely the 63rd districts best team this year.
  16. With that many good players maybe they should rotate starters. I remember North Carolina doing this a few years ago to sooth ego's. What school is recruiting Ferguson?
  17. I should have added that Elliott should be ranked #1 until someone knocks them off.
  18. I keep reading about how deep Elliott Co is but in the two scrimmages that Ive saw Coach Mays has played his starters until the game is well in hand. Maynard and the boys do not see the floor until the fight is over. I will say that Timmy Knipp is going to be not a good one but a GREAT one. I can see how some colleges rate him as the best prospect on the team.
  19. I believe he is Doc. Kyle is going to be a great player someday but if he is in the varsity rotation this year then Russell is n for a long year. Maybe the Devils can hope for some Rose Hill transfers to save the day. Somebody call Big Sandy!!
  20. I saw where Oldham is in the King of the Bluegrass in December. What information is out there on them. I know they are well coached and won there region last year but what do they have coming back for this season.
  21. Aaron Watts is a good player and a good kid. He has a bright future ahead of him. There are some good right-ups about the AAU State Tournament on: http://www.catspause.com http://www.kentuckysportsradio.com Dakotah Euton and Chad Jackson from Rose Hill Christian are being looked at by UK.
  22. Cameron Hall has a very bright future ahead of him. He has worked very hard to get where he is today. He is a great young basketball player, but he is even a better young man. Stay hungury and humble Camaron, and keep working hard. The sky is the limit for you.:thumb: :thumb:
  23. It is a shame that Coach Cook refused to shake the Rose Hill girls and the Rose Hill coaches hand after the game. Again, the Ashland Administration needs to ask Coach Cook, why such bad sportsmanship.  He must be hanging around coach Hart.
  24. The Elliott boys will be ready to go. Elliott 65 East 52
  25. God bless the Vanhoose family. Our prayers go out for a speedy recovery. I just hope my son can have as good of a high school career, as Jonathan. A great player and a wonderfull kid.
