  1. I just hope those boy's regardless of the hype, pressure, rumor's, what parents say or do, or what uncle joe thinks, what gran'pa Jon tells them etc, etc, etc, have enough composure to be able to stand all the storm and troubles by sticking together as a team and knowing twenty years from now that they really gave it their all as a team and weren't brought down by outside influence of any kind and IF they go down they go down fighting together.
  2. I am probably just slow, but what does the billboard thing mean? I didn't get it.
  3. My top five. 1. Elliott 2. Holmes 3. Scott Co. 4. Bryan Station 5. J-Town
  4. And politic's in a lot of situations.
  5. I predict Myrtle Beach sunny & 72 degrees & Elliott County by 4 points. Catch a wave & your sitting on top of the world. Go Lions!!!
  6. Doesn't anyone watch Tony Cavilier. I knew the game would be cancelled. I'm in Florida getting toned & tanned for the Beach Ball Classic. GO ELLIOTT COUNTY!!!
  7. All the players listed here for consideration(Hood will get it) are very good. I have noticed though someone always has to knock the Ferguson kid and try to say he dont belong whatever the thread is. I have watched him play several games in last six years and he is one of the most consistent I have saw. I have watched him in the summer playing top comp in Texas, Florida, Mississippi, Arkansas, Ky, Cinncy, Indiana, Ohio, Virginia, etc. etc. Also watched him against weak 16th region teams, # 1 in Ky team, out of state teams alll over the nation. I hope you have gotten the point by now. There is one thing that he does...... that is Fill up the stat sheet. He is a terrific Scorer as his coach stated...he just simply finds a way. He is deadly from 25 feet in(see post 65 youtube link he is 8-14 on this shot in past two seasons) or can penetrate and score inside against taller opponenets. He gets several rebds steals asst every game. Will he win MR Basketball.....probably not. Is he a legit player in the state of Ky....YES
  8. Pikeville must have been better than Walton, Ga.
  9. RA09 you can bank on the fact that those guy's "wanting to see the banner hang in sandy hook " is not true. Its also not about the schedule either. Its kinda like the snake thing. Most snakes are not a threat because they run if given a chance, but people still dont like them and most people try and get rid of them because they feel threatened. No one cared about Elliotts schedule five years ago, but now they do have the capability of knocking off some of the traditional "cream of the crop" teams and people feel threatened by that possibility and thats why all the negativity. They also say its because Elliott fans brag to much but I don't buy that either. Who wouldn't get a little overzealous if their team was winning and going farther than they ever had in school history. A fan there would kinda be a weirdo if he wasn't freaking out about them and hyping them up just like the big boys get to do every year including the ones who are dissing Elliott. There is nothing wrong with believing in a dream that you might win state or having confidence that your team is one of the best. I sorta think the others kinda believe it to or they wouldnt be giving you any attention, whether it be negative or positive. GO ELLIOTT!!! Over achieve baby:banana::dancingpa:thumb:
  10. Any stats on the Lady Lions vs East Carter? If so, thanks kindly.
  11. Elliott County 144 Lewis County 143 in triple overtime (just kidding) EC 84 LC 42
  12. No! But they are not giving him the credit he deserves and RA09 is taking a stand for him. As an ex coach it's been my understanding that scoring is a very very big part of the game. The team who has the most points at the end wins. Anyway Ferguson is not just a scorer as everyone projects him to be. I have followed his career( as I have several other's around the state) and according to news, internet reportings, etc he also averaged 2steals, 3asst, and 6 rebounds per game. This thread is about wings and it is a wings job to score and noone in the state up to this point does that as well as Ferguson has during his high school games. Throw in his rebounds, assist, and steals, and you have a complete player with more heart and grit than most of those mentioned over him.
  13. Lots of people are trying to act like Mason had a bad game was the reason for Elliott playing them so close. Here are the stats. Mason FG%-50.9 3pt%-36.8 Rebounds-34 Turnovers-8 Free throws-5-16 Elliott FG%-38.9 3pt%-29.2 Rebounds-30 Turnover-8 Free throws-13-15 Only stat Elliott won in was free throw, but the difference in both FG%'s more than make up that difference. What this does tend to show is that Elliott had a bad game the first time they played.
  14. You say don't be too harsh on Miller, you shouldn't be so harsh on Ferguson. He had 19pts and around 7-8 rebds(5 in first half according to radio Stats) and this was accomplished with a 5star player who has signed with UK:thumb: defending him for almost the whole game. Last time they met he had 27. He is just a junior, and was giving up a year in experience and strength, 51/2 inches and 30 some pounds.
  15. You reckon Ferguson not being any good is why he always draws the other teams best defender. And his average flopping mediocre play is why he is(according to his Father, new's, internet) getting "serious" attention from several high major schools, and 70 some altogether counting the mid major's. Course I would say you guys know more about the talent pool than those college recruiter's do. He does force some shots as does every player on the team, but if he didnt he wouldnt get very many attempts I can tell you that. There is hardly ever an offensive set ran for him. He has to create his own shot most of the time. I would just about bet the farm that UK signee Darius Miller wont be guarding anybody else on the team thursday. Oh! By the way his Bball IQ might not be very high, but at least he does know enough to give the ball up on the fastbreak to get the almost for sure basket.
  16. Did Bondick ever get over his broken wrist?
  17. Life in reality is about hard knock's. You have to step up to the plate and give it your all regardless of the odd's. This day and time basketball is about like life, you will most always be facing unfavorable odd's. If you overcome the victory is that much sweeter, if you fail you become tougher and stronger for the next battle.
  18. Sometime's people have good reason's to want to leave. They are not the only ones. I know others in the 16th who are considering a move.
  19. In the region Elliott played Ferguson mostly in the post. Miller will definately have no trouble stopping him there. From what I heard some people were complaining that he was shooting to many three's, and was scoring to much!
  20. I wouldn't say fine or okay, but it is back to normal.
  21. IMO Manual will not even win their region.:thumb:
  22. According to new's and people's stats posted on BGP he shot thirteen shot's from the perimeter and hit six of them. I don't see that as a problem getting open look's, and he also connected at a great percentage(46%) when he did shoot. No he is not as dominating or nearly as good overall as Darius Miller who is a very special player, but he can play shooting guard for somebody. As far as the range of his shot he's always pulling from 25ft regardless if a midget was guarding him. 42% on the season they claim.
  23. What about the ones he scored on Cov. Cath(29), Christian Co(30) Mason(27) Warren Central 06'(25) those are not lesser comp. and he averaged 27.7 against them. Its been told on here a dozen times that he averages good numbers no matter where he plays or who against in the summer, regular season, whatever. I think Hootscoot's point has a little bit of truth to it.
  24. I There is quite a bit of difference in the Ferguson kid and Stepp. Stepp avgd, 50 Ferguson avg's 27. Stepp took 40-50 shots a game. Ferguson takes 15-20. Ferguson avgs 3 assist also. He is a team player.
