Boys teams with a LEGITIMATE shot to win it all!

Featured Replies

Here are the boys teams I feel have a legitimate shot to win the Kentucky Sweet 16 this year:

Mason County, University Heights, Lexington Catholic, Bryan Station, Louisville Male, Scott County, Covington Holmes and PRP.

What do you say?

I'd say, Lexcath, Bryan Station, Mason Co and Scott co all have the best shot.

But Holmes, PRP, University Heights, and Male all benefit that only 2 of the above teams actually have a shot at winning it all after region. So actually Scott Co, Lexcath, and Bryan Station have the biggest disadvantage all being in the same region.

There will probably be two teams at the state with ANY chance of winning it all. LC, BS, and SC will be 1 and Mason Co. will be another. Not to mention Mason got the easy road to the finals, so they have a good shot.

If Hopson decides to play, UHA could be something of a sleeper. The others dont have the star power to get it done.

Any team that can win the LIT should be in there. Add Manual to the list.

...You got to avoid Mr. Upset!!!

After the way Madison Central played against Scott County last night, I wouldn't count them out of the 11th, especially with their 1st game at home, and EKU is in Richmond also.

Paducah Tilghman (experienced and athletic, could pose matchup problems for Mason)

Corbin (they're hot, and if they stay hot through the region, they have a favorable draw into Saturday morning, and Crawford has played quite well at Rupp before)

Whoever wins the 7th Region has a legitimate shot at winning the whole thing. I don't know if I see University Heights being in the "legitimate chance" category.

I think so only because in a one-game shot they could knock off the 11th rep in the first round (assuming Hopson can be suitably motivated -- a big if), and who knows what could happen after that?

Basketball fans from around the state have to hate that only one of the several talented teams from the 11th Region (Lex Cath, Scott Co., Bryan Station, & Madison Central) will make it to the State Tourney. This sounds very similar to the stacked Western Conference of the NBA this season. Of course, this is a positive for the other 15 regions.

IMO Manual will not even win their region.:thumb:

Dunbar is pretty good also.

Have you seen UHA play? I'd say they can play with anyone in the state. They even got a number 1 vote in the last AP Poll.
