Boys teams with a LEGITIMATE shot to win it all!

Featured Replies

Have you seen UHA play? I'd say they can play with anyone in the state. They even got a number 1 vote in the last AP Poll.

Think about who you asked that.

If Hopson and Edmondson are motivated, I'd say they could play with these teams. I do have to say though, what are the odds that Hopson stays motivated to play for 4 games in 4 or 5 days?

I believe the winner will either come out of the 11th or 7th region. I don't think Mason Co. is the best team, although they did get a great draw.

Why is he from UHA or something? His name doesn't say where he's from.

Think about it. WESTsider. And actually, he has probably seen every team of significance on the west side of the state based on what I get from him in years past.

Westsider and I have our run-ins, but its mostly when he tries to delve into this side of the state....

Seen them play several times. I don't know that they're good enough on the defensive end to win it all, and they're too reliant on two players.

Usually you think I'm promoting the west teams. Now you seem to be getting on me for not promoting one.

Gee, which is it?

I'm not getting on you. I'm getting on him for questioning you, believe it or not.

I get on your for tearing down teams outside of the west...

Oh yeah, that tired old accusation ...

Let's all get back to the thread topic and not each other.

IMO Manual will not even win their region.:thumb:

And 95% of the opinions on this board had someone other the Manual winning the LIT, but they did. And they won three consecutive games over teams ranked in the top 15. Can you name any other teams that has won three consecutive games against ranked opponants this season? In the 7th region, that's what has to happen in order for a team to reach the Sweet 16.

Yeah, but let's face it ... there are five legitimate top-15 teams in the 7th Region in Jeffersontown, Male, Eastern, Ballard and Manual. It's wide-open.

As the same for the 11th region with regards to five legit top-15 teams. Shouldn't there be a "Selection Sunday" headed by CM Newton for Kentucky High School hoops?

Dunbar is pretty good also.

Blowouts against Lex Cath twice would suggest they aren't good enough to claim top tier status yet.

The strong 11th region loses it's glitter once the regional tourney is over. I can see a Madison Central winning the region and losing badly in the first round to UHA. If this were to happen I can see UHA going all the way. A player like Hopson can win the day on Saturday ala Antoine Barbour of E-town a few years ago. The team with the best conditioned athletes usually wins on Saturday because of playing two strenuous games. That would favor UHA/11th winner or Mason County.

I'd have to agree with you although I haven't seen every team in the state so I don't know how they fare when it comes to conditioning. I know UH has some pretty serious practice's throughout the year so I'm sure they are good to go for districts and region. UH is 2-0 vs 11th region teams (Madision Central, and Tates Creek). So they haven't played any of the "Powerhouses" out of the 11th yet. But any of these three teams can play with the rest of the 11th so I think that if UH can get that first round win they might have a shot. Only problem would be you could face possible either the 7th or 9th in the Semi's and then 10 hours later possible play Mason. Now if UH doesn't make it to the Sweet 16 then I would want either Christain County or Madisonville North-Hopkins there. But if that happans then I know Region two won't win this year without a doubt. IMO it will either go like this. Whoever wins the top bracket wins State because they went through the talent of the top bracket to get to finals and will still be fired up and go out and beat the bottom bracket. OR. Bottom bracket will win because after the top bracket gets done beating eachother up they will just simple be too tired to play another very good (and more refreshed cause they are from the bottom bracket instead of top) team. But good luck to all 16 teams that make it and play hard!
