I figured we would start a thread talking about who the best wing player or players are in the state.

 

Just some names that come to my mind is:

 

John Hood

Jacob Jenkins

Gelawn Guyn

Aaron Cosby

Jonathan Ferguson

Shaquille Wilson

CJ Penny

Tony Kimbro

Dion Johnson

Tate Cox

Robbie Stenzel

 

And I am sure Ive left off some good ones.

I'd say Jon Hood based on the fact he signed with UK and probably makes him the favorite for Mr. Basketball.

I think with Hood, Jenkins, Guyn, Cosby, and Ricardo Johnson there is 5 legit D-1 players. There could be more in the group (Ive never seen Kimbro play), but those 5 guys all should get their college paid for at big universities.

There are also some great young players (freshmen and sophomores) who project to be great wings as well as possible point guards. Some of the best ones I seen this summer were:

Seth Beckham

Isaiah Ivey

Fucci from Tates Creek (I forget his 1st name)

I'll go out on a wing here and pick Jenkins or Hood as the best in the state. This summer I saw a vast improvement in Jenkins game from the previous year. I didn't see Hood much because he was hurt. Cosby will get better, but the games I watched him play didn't impress me. I saw them (KY Hoopstars get crushed when they were at Speice this summer by All Ohio Red.

Based on what I have saw I would say:

 

1. Jon Hood

2. Gelawn Guyn

3. Jacob Jenkins

4. Shaquille Wilson

5. Aaron Cosby

6. Dion Johnson

7. Tony Kimbro

8. CJ Penny

It looks to me like we are talking about the 2-guard spot here more than a small forward, so I would add Barrett Meyer from Franklin County, and Blaine Greene from Middlesboro to the list.
