You well may be right, but we have been hearing how good they were going be for 3 years now, were going to win multiple regional titles, and one overly oppomistic person even predicted state titles. An apperance in the region finals would be a good place to start.

I like the pool play in the state tourney for 2 reasons. You don't necessarily get killed by a bad draw, and the teams get to play more games. Some travel 300 miles to play a 25 minute match. However, I am not in favor of runners-up going to the state tourney. I think it cheapens the idea of playing in a STATE TOURNEY. So, keep it at 16 teams, but have 4 pools of 4 teams each and the winners advance to the semi-finals and everyone gets to play at least 3 matches.

This comes into play much more than people think, especially in private schools where MONEY CONTRIBUTORS are a much bigger factor than in public schools.

The biggest problem I see in Brossart's progress is keeping kids interested. It is one thing to lose every week, but another to continually get pounded as they have. I would think it would be hard to get kids to come out to play when it happens every week. They may be rethinking their decision to jump to varsity in 2 years rather than follow W-V's process of allowing the kids a chance to work their way into varsity ball. Good luck to them, but I think they are at a critical point in the program.

Probably just the opposite. I'm sure the pay is more, as you can hardly make less than coaching at a parocaial high school, in any sport. Vast difference between public and private coaches pay in high school.

Kudos to St. Henry coach and team for staying on their bench during the after game celebrations and subsequent honoring of Coach Mertle. Very classy move, as I'm sure they would have rather gone to their locker room after such a tough loss. Class never goes out of style, and it definetly showed last night as many people noiced this.

I would think their college coaches feel they have an obligation to continue to improve in the sport they are going to play in college. However, it would be fun to see the 3 of them play basketball and see what they could contribute.

If I can't play ball in college I may try leading the band.

I wouldn't imagine she would give up club volleyball this winter when she has a scholarship to Morehead for v'ball in hand. Also, she hasn't played since grade school, so it would be a very tough adjustment to make. However, I have heard the same rumor.

Minutes decreased for Cutter because she didn't produce. Cundiff's minutes only decreased because of injuries. Of course "someone" will disagree because that is the purpose of this forum. If you were correct about everything no one would ever have a different opinion. The ball never came back out when it went in to Cundiff, even when doubled teamed. That is the player's fault for trying to get her "numbers" rather than looking weak side like she was "coached" to do. When the ball goes inside and the results continue to be missed lay ups and turnovers you have to look for better opitions. They will be BETTER. No question Ron will do a good job, his track record tells you that. However, lets see what their record is over the NEXT 10 years as opposed to the LAST 10 years. Time will tell.

I hope you are right, but getting the ball to Cutter last year was useless as she couldn't finish when she got the ball, and Cundiff was second on the team in TURNOVERS, because she shuffled her feet before shooting, or had it stolen by guards doubling down. Tabor will be much more effective inside because she keeps the ball above her head where the guards doubleing down can't get at it. She is also much stronger, and won't pout when she doesn't get the ball all the time. They should be much beter.

No, when you only lose 2 seniors you have more depth returning from the previous season. I failed to mention Janie Geisler is also back. She has been a 2 year starter. Britney Fryer and Trisha Taylor gained much experience after the Sims girl quite school in November last year. They have an incoming freshman from Dayton and a sophmore inside player who made big strides last year.

The lack of toughness left with the graduating seniors. I don't think that will be a problem with the 4 returning starters, Sandfoss, Tabor, Bartels, and Schultz. They showed that this summer at NKU's camp where they had double digit wins over Boone and Holy Cross. In the Boone game both Bradley and Sandfoss were missing, but still NCC had their way with them. I look for Sandfoss, and especially Bartels, to have great seasons. With the additional depth they will have this year they should be VERY good.

A question about Kues would how well NCC replaces their receivers and offensive line. You need both to be a sucessful QB.
