Getting out of the district is not an accomplishment, getting out of the region is, and they haven't done that for some time. So until they prove they can do that, all the talk about their POTENTIAL the last 3 years is just that. I believe they have the best talent, but that doesn't always win.

They have 2 more of these bad teams coming up this week. Next week will tell a lot more about where they stand, with Simon Kenton and Highlands I believe. If they can play with those two then they could be a factor in the 9th this year. -
It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to prohibit parents from GAMES.

My understanding was that Brossart was really struggling this year. Looking at the scores of games played it would appear NCC should win this game easily. -

They needed a couple of wins after being blown out the first 2 games of the tourney. The real test will be when they start playing the top teams in the 9th region. Hopefully they can match up with these teams. -
Any foul that is committed by a member of the team in control of the ball. e.g. charge, illegal pick, etc. These are fouls that don't result in foul shots for the other team. The same thing as the old "player control" foul, which was expanded several years ago to include any team control foul as non-shooting fouls. Offended team taks ball out of bounds at nearest spot.

Does NCC have another game in the tourney or are they finished? -

Surprised by 20 point lose more than just the loss. -

Losing by 20 plus 2 days in a row is one thing, but only scoring 25 points is not a good sign. -

Don't they have a new coach this year? -
I would call making 6 three's in one quarter "great shooting" even if she wasn't guarded.

I think many coaches don't vote because of the lack of coverage they get from the Enquirer. The Post used to have a separate section with rosters, schedules, pictures, etc. What does the Enquirer give us? A couple of picture and stories. A lot of times you can't even find a box score on some games.

Agree. Must think coaching and player development have played a part also. Good programs and coaches attract good players, and all of the above mentioned players are "technically" not from NewCath feeder schools, so there must have been something that attracted them to NCC.
-
Agree completely. I wasn't implying NewCath was in the same class, but sometimes I think smaller schools automatically think they can't compete with larger schools when actually they can, if they THINK they can. They can't compete year in and year out, but don't sell the smaller schools short. I think Villa could play with a number of larger schools.

How has NewCath done it for the last 10 years?

If it is NCC and Corbin, where will it be played?

There is a long blog on BGP about the 8th Region's upcoming season, but nothing seems to be surfacing about the 9th Region. Any thought's on the upcoming season?

I don't think there is any doubt that the boy's coaches get much more support from the administration than girl's coaches when it comes to parent complaints, etc. It is almost as if administrations feel girl's coaches are "replaceable" so why put up with the grief, whereas for the boys coaches they will stand and fight. After a while the girl's coaches have had enough and just move on, because they know no one has their back.

That's an outstanding accomplishment. Probably been a while since one team in NKY, in any sport, has placed 3 players on the first team All State team. Even more impressive in that it is a "non-classified" sport, and only 13 players made the first team.

You are certainly right. Michelle Woods had an OUTSTANDING season, as well as Hillary Leyland. As so often happens, the role players often get overlooked when there are other star players. However, if you ask the two players mentioned I'm sure they would say the other players and fans certainly realized the role they played, and made them aware of that.

I agree she has posted the record over the long haul, and that is the true test. It is interesting you mention McDonald as one who has a great start but has to sustain it to be mentioned in Fookes class. Apparently her school administration doesn't realize she is in this class as they pulled the rug out from under her this summer. Sometimes people don't know how good they have it until they switch ships.
