Cats Pause 10th Region...

Featured Replies

I haven't had a chance yet to purchase the Cats annual yearbook. Can someone list the Top Teams and Players from the 10th Region?

Thanks,

Coach Kelsch

Don't remember much about it but do remember Hannah was #10.

If it is like some of the other regions it is a huge joke. I dont know who ranks players and teams but huge glaring omissions and misranked players. The biggest example I can think of is the 11th region where Elizbeth Horn is ranked ahead of Anna Martin, Courtney Clifton, And Ebony Rowe. Dont get me wrong Horn is a fine ballplayer and even better person but those three are better basketball players who will go D1 and contribute at the next level. There are several others from different regions to many to list. It is a shame that a publication like Cats Pause does not do a better job checking some of the info. Of course this is just one persons opinion.

I agree oldballcoach. The 12th region rankings are very flawed also. Anna Martin is clearly at worst the 2nd best player in Kentucky this year. Rowe is also a great player. I would not put much into any of the Cats Pause rankings, especially on the girls side.

Well said Jesse James. Martin will be a Miss Basketball candidate. I also agree the 12th region is flawed from top to bottom. These rankings along with Bolus rankings at least on the girls side are very rarely correct.

I haven't seen it, but I'm guessing Montgomery Co. is #1 and Mackenzie Lee is one of the top players.

Teams:

1. Montgomery Co.

2. Clark County

3. Bishop Brossart

4. Scott

5. Campbell Co.

6. Bracken Co.

7. Paris

8. Mason Co.

9. St. Patrick

10. Harrison Co.

Players:

1. Mackenzie Lee

2. Katie Kitchen

3. Lauren Tibbs

4. Emily Hinkson

5. Jewel Rogers

6. Mary Jehlik

7. Keller Menke

8. Emily Sanker

9. Shelbi Benzinger

10. Hannah Haight

Cats Pause gets its info from local sportswriters from the regions.

There are alot of sports writers that must not watch girls basketball. The person who did the 12th region must have been asleep for over the last year. In the preview they talk about Southwestern returning a senior contributer named Heather Overton. Heather did not play last year and will not play this year while she still recovers from a near fatal car accident. Her story made the 27 WKYT news last year. Extremly disappointing reporting.

Now you know who to blame!

I'm sorry but they don't get that info from the right sports writers in the region ... they need to talk to the ones that have been around for a while and not the ones that have just started.

What does it say about the ninth region. Thanks

I can tell you that the research needs to be done alot better in this area. The guy from Danville, Marsee( sp?) must never have watched any basketball other than his immediate area. How do you leave off a kid from the top 10 that has already signed a D1 letter of intent? If you watch all the teams in the 12th region play, its very easy to figure out who the top players are . I am not saying that some of the players dont belong, because they do, I just saying if you are gonna do a major writeup on a certain region, at least you could do is take time to see them play. If not you dont need to write it. Period.

Now everyone can complain to the CP, b/c writers from each region do the preview. Mark Maynard from Ashland Daily Independent does the 16th, and on the boys side, he included a boy that graduated and one that hasn't played in 2 years as impotant factors for one team on the boys side!!

I just saw the new Bolus rankings. Does this guy put any effort at all in to this?
