Pretty disappointing......... The CP needs to do a little more research. When the season starts, this list will change. I hope some of these teams don't get too excited or dissappointed by their ranking.

could someone list what teams the top 10 players play for? I know some of them but not all of them and add any other players whom you think might have been left off the list. thanks all.

This list will no doubt change once the season starts, Campbell I believes needs to be in the top 5 or 6 but I also believe that St. Patrick needs to be right in that top mix. Bracken has suffered some injuries that will knock a couple out for the season or much of it, or they would be higher than 6 in my opinion. Paris lost a great deal last year along with Mason. I believe Paris lost 6 seniors, someone correct me if I am wrong.

The tenth region girls atricle was much like the boys - totally slanted toward Mason Co. Montgomery's girls have been to state like 5 times in a row but it talked about the big 3 Mason lost more than anything else.

I guess you write about what you know - and this guy bleeds Mason Co. blue.

Don't remember the name but he was the guy from the Maysville Independent I think.

I don't think it should be ignored, but it would be nice if someone writing for the KY Yearbook (and not the Maysville Independent for this assignment) gave some love to the Lady Indians who have had quite a run in the 10th and probably will represent the 10th in Bowling Green again this year after losing only one starter.

I believe he did give some love to Montgomery. Yes he did mention the Big 3 once,but he also said Montgomery should make it 5 in a row to Diddle

You've got to be kidding me on the Top 10 players list too! Mary Jehlik is no worse than a Top 3 talent returning in the Region. Nothing against the rest but here are the Top players in the 10th region returning this year.

 

Mackenzie Lee- Mont. Co.

Jewel Rogers- GRC

Mary Jehlik- Mont. Co.

Persia Rogers- GRC

Kayla Webb- Mont. Co.

Katie Kitchen- Campbell Co.

Emily Hinkson- Paris

Lauren Tibbs- Scott High

Elizabeth Prewitt- Mont. Co.

Keller Menke- Mason Co.

 

You have to base a few things on your decision. Level of competition played against and how you project them beyond high school.

 

Nothing against those players that appeared on the CP list and not mine, but if you ever go to the region tournament and see how players react on the big stage than it's hard to compare. Bracken Co., St. Pat., etc. don't play enough high caliber opponents to fairly judge players. A player can avg. 12-15 pts. against marginal competion and another can avg. 8-10 pts. for a team like Montgomery Co. does and you are talking about day and night difference. Kayla Webb may be the most talented all around athlete in the region yet didn't make the top 10 and I believe she avg. around 10pts. and 6-7 rebounds a game. C'mon CP find a more reliable way of providing coverage. Good thing I don't subscribe to that mess. I prefer going and watching the games and making my assessments. Good luck to another banner year in the 10th. Hope to see you all in gyms this winter. Again, do't take offensive to my top 10, it's my personal list and not meant to offend, just meant to be fair to players that play against tougher competion.:banana:

I've seen what the C P says on players. What do some of my Fellow BGPers think of the girls that didn't make that ranking. Who will be some of the players that will make an impact for their teams that are not listed in the Cat's Pause. I want some girls names to go watch that will make a difference to their programs. Chime on in.....

The district tournament will be very competitive for many years to come, including this year. Mason, Bracken, and St. Patrick will all not be easy outs.
