As stated in the blog, it's the top three teams in each region according to the Litkenhous Ratings. They're not MY picks.

How in the world is Christian County ranked No. 5?

Seneca lost by 16 to Iroquois tonight, so, no, doesn't look like they're a top-five team. Probably not even top five in the Seventh Region.

What poll would that be?

The first Litkenhous Ratings of the season will be available online this coming Monday, Jan. 4, and appear in the paper on Tuesday, Jan. 5.

So Highlands is the GCL champ because they beat one team in the league? That would be like saying Western Kentucky was the Big East basketball champion last year because they beat Louisville. Shouldn't Highlands have to play a few more teams in the league first?

Can I take this post and send it out as a mailer to everyone in Northern Kentucky, especially those who keep writing me about the Litkenhous Ratings? I've never seen a fan base so perturbed about a computer ranking. You have a great team, Highlands fans. No need to worry about what some computer spits out. If you think Highlands should be ranked ahead of Trinity, I see nothing wrong with that. But if you think another team other than St. X or Highlands should be ranked ahead of Trinity, I'd challenge you to name that team and explain your reasoning (keeping in mind that NO team from Kentucky other than St. X has beaten Trinity since 2004).

Since I can't find many schedules yet, I'm wondering (for planning purposes) which - if any - teams will actually play their first regular-season games on Friday, Aug. 21. Are there a lot of teams forfeiting a scrimmage in order to take an off week in the middle of the season, or are most teams playing two scrimmages and starting their regular seasons on Friday, Aug. 28?
