  3. We are finally starting to get the videos posted on a team-by-team basis. There will be a total of 23. Just click the following link and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Louisville | USA Today High School Sports
  4. I would have bet $1 million the first response to this would be someone complaining ... and I would have won.
  5. The KHSAA has a plan: KHSAA issues backup schedule for state football finals | USA Today High School Sports | USA Today High School Sports
  6. LOL ... I can't believe some of you believe some school district is going to say "No" to a school playing in a state final on a Sunday. By the way, I've asked the KHSAA at least twice what would happen if the CUSA final and KHSAA finals clashed. I've never received an answer from them. But I'm certain there's a plan in place. And I don't think there's any chance CUSA is going to move its final from Saturday. The KHSAA will be the one that has to move something. Total speculation on my part would be: one final Thursday night, three games Friday, two games Sunday.
  7. They've been saying this for the last 22 years at Manual. Still hasn't happened, but maybe this is the year ...
  8. Combined record of the three Kentucky teams Pulaski County has defeated: 2-14. That's not going to impress a computer.
  9. As far as the Litratings are concerned, CovCath really is only 1-2. The three games against Ohio teams aren't factored.
  10. Bad typo on my part on Collins' offense. They had 79 yards passing, not 19. Total yards at 237 (158 rush/79 pass). I fixed it in the online story. Apologies.
  11. My story on the rise of the Spencer County program: Game of the Week preview | Collins at Spencer County | USA Today High School Sports | USA Today High School Sports
  12. This is the first year of a four-year scheduling cycle. I believe most of these deals are at least 2-year deals, if not 4-year.
  13. Well, not that anyone cares, but I settled on this for this week: 5. Bryan Station 4. Simon Kenton 3. Scott County 2. Trinity 1. Male. The others I considered for No. 5 were Manual and Boyle County. I'm also intrigued by Ryle, but their computer ratings are a bit lackluster.
  14. My question about South Warren is this ... Would you pick them to beat Bowling Green?
  15. DeSales not a top-five team in the state. Honestly, I have no clue who's good after Male, Trinity and (maybe) Scott County and Simon Kenton. Currently taking all suggestions on this week's Power Five.
  16. Check my AP ballot this week. I moved DeSales to No. 1.
  17. I'd probably have Central ranked 5th or 6th in 5-A right now.
  18. Well, look at it this way: Central beat St. X and I believe DeSales is better than Central.
  19. And until a Lexington 6-A school even pretends to compete with a Louisville 6-A school, there's no way I'm putting one in the top five.
  20. I don't know if it will affect anyone's opinion of DeSales, but it might help to know they have about 66 players (grades 10-12) on the roster. That DOES NOT include freshmen. DeSales does not have a typical roster for a 2-A school.
  21. Assuming you don't have a problem with my top four (Male, Trinity, Scott County and Simon Kenton), I'd be curious as to who you think should be No. 5? Honestly, I struggled with it. The other teams I considered are Bowling Green, St. X, Manual, South Warren, Belfry and Boyle County. Decided to throw out BG because of loss to St. X and St. X because of loss to Central. And if DeSales were to play Manual, South Warren, Belfry or Boyle County, I'm pretty sure I'd go with the Colts. (However, I finally will see DeSales play tonight at Fern Creek and reserve the right to change my opinion.) Who else should I be considering for that No. 5 spot?
  22. This might be the smartest thing ever posted on the Internet.
  23. Keion Wakefield is a great receiver, but he missed Male's first three games of the season with a high ankle sprain. In his first game back against Trinity he had 2 catches for 55 yards and a touchdown. Based solely on production, he'd be No. 3 among Male WRs on a list of Mr. Football candidates, behind Zackery Smith (11 catches, 340 yards, 4 TDs) and Marcus Clark (16 catches, 202 yards, 2 TDs). The most talented player in Louisville, hands down, is Trinity's Rodjay Burns. Kid does a little bit of everything on offense, defense and special teams, but his numbers won't scream Mr. Football.
