  1. Yes, I will be there. It's The Courier-Journal's Game of the Week.
  2. I think most everyone in this thread is severely underestimating DeSales.
  3. It's very confusing when you consider Central is in 3-A (largest class) for track and field. But that's because they consider total enrollment, not just boys. Last count had Central at 63 percent female enrollment.
  4. Seriously? It's that big of a hardship to drive 2 1/2 or 3 hours from Northern Kentucky to Bowling Green? I guess the rest of the state now gets to complain about having to drive to Northern Kentucky for the Girls Sweet 16.
  5. There's so much misinformation about the Litkenhous Ratings, but there's no changing anyone's mind about them (sort of like politics). I've given up even trying.
  6. And most people with half a brain know that scrimmages are just that ... scrimmages.
  7. Nope, just one. There are other media outlets (4 TV stations) in Louisville, ya know?!?!
  8. Because in the BG-St. X game, both teams have a chance to win.
  9. There were 2-3 other LBs that really tough to leave off, including Duncan and the PRP linebacker Marcel Kilgore.
  10. I think 42 of those 50 kids have an offer from a I-A (FBS) or I-AA school (FCS). I didn't have room to list offers on all those kids. You're never going to make a perfect list of this kind. But I can tell you a lot of thought and research went into it.
  11. Tell me about all of the scholarship offers these guys have, the ones that didn't make the list.
  12. Practice time was an issue for 2-3. To be honest, we didn't overly promote the thing, only sending emails to all 35 coaches. I think we probably could have gotten 25-30 if we had pushed it, but we wouldn't have been prepared for all of them. We'll promote it better next year and also be prepared for everyone to show.
  13. Every school in the Metro Louisville area (35 total) received an invitation. With the recent addition of Iroquois, we're up to 15 confirmed. It's actually more than we expected for the first year. If we get a better response next year, we'll probably have to do it over a 2-3-day period.
  14. Hello. Wanted to let everyone know that The Courier-Journal will be live-streaming its inaugural High School Football Media Day from Churchill Downs, starting at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Here's the list of teams that we have scheduled to attend. Hope you'll join us online! 12:30 - DeSales 12:40 - Eastern 12:50 - Central 1:00 - Male 1:10 - Ballard 1:20 - Oldham County 1:30 - Kentucky Country Day 1:40 - Spencer County 1:50 - Butler 2:00 - Fairdale 2:10 - Fern Creek 2:20 - Bullitt Central 2:30 - Valley 2:40 - Jeffersontown
  15. Because Manual is a magnet high school. He could go back to his "resides" school and not have to sit out.
  16. He played at Manual last season, so a change of address wouldn't be required to be eligible this season.
  17. You guys are going to be surprised where he ends up. Stay tuned ...
  18. My understanding is that Drew O'Bryan is no longer committed to Ball State.
  19. Anyone have a player to add to this list: Commitments from Kentucky?s Class of 2016 | USA Today High School Sports | USA Today High School Sports
  20. LOL ... anyone else want to remind uk#1fan about the last two times Simon Kenton played Scott County?
  21. Marty Donlon goes out of his way to put on a nice summer all-star game for the Louisville area, and of course some knucklehead with no clue of what's going on has to immediately go off the rails and complain about the rosters and selections. It's a wonder anyone ever tries to do something nice for high school kids these days.
  22. Here ya go: Junior All-Star Games set for Saturday at Bellarmine | USA Today High School Sports | USA Today High School Sports
  23. Plus I think you have a little residual buzz left over from the state tournament in April. By June, basketball is the last thing on the minds of most people.
