Mayfield drops from the top position after an overtime loss to McCracken County. DeSales takes on a strong Class 5A Fern Creek team. Can they get the upset? Lexington Christian has been flying under a lot of radars this year, are they the big surprise in Class 2A? Who should move up this week? Will Mayfield be able to overtake the number one spot again? Who should move down after this Friday?

skeptical about this week but do feel a colts win. Jason Frakes recently ranked desales as the 5th best team in kentucky in his power rankings. So wouldn't fern creek be the one looking for the upset?

Depending on who you are talking to. Fern Creek only lost to Manual by 10 points and has BIG wins over Seneca, Moore and Butler. I would consider them the favorite. But I would love to hear from @Jason Frakes on the matter.

I view DeSales as the favorite for sure...but I also viewed Mayfield as the favorite against McCracken County

Truth be told I am viewing those two games the same. Though McCracken is not ranked and Fern Creek is ranked high in 5A I think they are pretty equal competition.

McCracken moved up to #10 this week.

Colts didn't look like champs this past week against Lou. Holy Cross. Now if we can beat this really nice Fern Creek team this week, Ill feel a lot better.....Being #1 after 4 weeks of football is like kissing your mom, nice but not what you really desire.....

I disagree with you on the colts not looking like champs. What are you basing this on? But I do agree with what you said about being #1 .

DeSales is undefeated and MF is not, simply no doubt for now that DeSales should be #1

Danville is creeping along sort of under the radar but beginning to draw attention

Dumb question, can Mayfield and Desales meet in the State Championship or will their potential game be in the state semi's?

Semi's

The only way they can meet at the State Finals is if they all decide to go to Golden Corral at the same time.

Hey ColtFootball, I didn't like the fact the offense struggle in rain (to be expected)....fumbles, drop passes etc. can't do that against FC/CAL. The Defense set them up for most of their scoring drives. I know the offense is good, but I want them sharp coming off opening kickoff (not asking much, LOL), just look at our 1st quarter scoring the last 3 games. We had a lot of 3 and outs early....as for the Defense, it is sharp as a tack. They may get burn a play or two in a game, but man-o-man they are sweet. No problems there brother.....

I understand where you are coming from. I have also noticed the slow starts but that usually is just the first drive. Just wanted to know your thoughts!

How is NewCath even in the discussion???? While they have have played a little better NKY talent they got mauled by Belfry and they will get a run for their money against Cov. Holy Cross and Lloyd. While I understand Lloyd being in the Top 10 now, NewCath shouldn't be getting a sniff. I guess reputation from previous years counts for something here. (Snicker). If anything, Covington Holy Cross should be in the mix in the bottom of the poll. NewCath isn't even close.
