First of all I would not say Dayton is the real deal. They have come along way like HC, but not the real deal. Holmes from what I have seen has no passing game. When the schedules are scheduled the prior season, you don't know how good the opponent is going to be. As for the roster issues......there are no roster issues from what I know. If there is......please shed some light. Maybe I can't see the forest for the trees.

Come on bballfan22......I'm as diehard HC fan as they come. Yes, if the line starts blocking for Reardon the team will do better. But, don't put the cart before the horse. HC has Holmes, Western Hills, a bye, and then NCC. The way NCC handled SK......HC could very well get beat by the same. So my words to you bballfan22, take one game at a time.

I think I read the QB for NL is a Soph? I tell you what, he's going to be a player. He can flat stop on a dime, cut, and explode, very fast and shifty. He has a bright future. Good luck NL!

Yes he is, and he can run, punt, kick, and play some D if coach will let him. A very multi-talented kid.

It takes heart for these teams to go out day in day out, week in week out with the results they've had the last few yrs.. Hang in there and MAKE IT FUN!!! I wish both teams well.

I hope Deck, Hank, Atkins, Spence to name a few have a great yr. and possibly get some looks from colleges.

Not sure how to predict this one. After what BCHS did to BHS Friday. This is the start of a new season from the pre-season, I'll stand behind BHS for my buddy 3ptshooter and say.........BHS by 7.

HC played Holmes 3 times this summer in the 7 on 7's. Holmes has no passing. Alot of speed, but no passing. Greenies 27-14.

I believe there was coaches from Marshall University at the scrimmage.

How fast are these kids in full pads? Fully padded makes a difference. Some kids might run a 4.3 or 4.4, but padded a 4.7,4.8 or alot slower. IMO it depends on how strong the kid is. I heard there's a kid at Scott that runs a 4.4. Friday in the scrimmage, a HC receiver ran by him like he was standing still and ran away from the pack. So again, IMO the 4.3's, 4.4's are only a number.

OK, I'll recant. Apparently a book was kept. 165 yds for HC and 46 for Scott. Sorry:rolleyes:

IMO HC still needs alot of work to do on "O". The "O" line has to give Reardon time to throw the ball. When he has the time, he has good accurate passing and good receivers. The defense looked great. HC's first "O" series was stopped, Reardon was back to punt, the snap went over his head and he fell on the ball on the 5 yd. line. So Scott had 5 yds. to go for a TD. They was stuff and by the time everything was said and done, they were trying for a 31 yd. FG, missed. But the rest of the game was spurts of OK "O" from HC, but alot of GREAT D from HC. I need to mention a few player that looked great. On O was Robert Walker and Phillip Moore. R. Walker will flat out run over someone. And Moore is a slash/cut runner who can get the big yds. The receiving core, M. Walker (R. Walker's brother) and Jeff West. Both above average speed with good hands. On D is again R. Walker, Chris James, Tyler Darpel, and Andy Ronker. They put pressure on the QB and stopped the run. If a book was kept, Scott would be in negitive yds. That is how good HC's D looked. Good luck Scott!

Sorry, I have to take back what I said about beating Holmes. If the Scott team shows up to play Holmes that showed up to play HC in the scrimmage Friday.......they will get beat.

I've read the top 10's throughout the thread and I have seen Lloyd is above alot of the more competitive programs. IMO, Lloyd will be a competitive program this yr. but not quit what people are making them out to be. I have also read that only 1 person on this thread is giving HC a chance. What's up with that? I'm curious.

Did anyone see the cheap shot that was taken on a HC receiver across the middle? Well for you that didn't see it...a HC receiver got his jimmies racked.

You all should beat Holmes. Regardless of what happens the week prior to playing Holmes. Holmes did not fair to well in the 7-on-7's. Holmes has speed, speed, and more speed. But thats it.

For all HC fans, I checked out practice a few times this week and the Indians are looking good. I guess we need to see how the O line stacks up against others D. Still to early to tell how the Indians will do this yr.

I failed to mention the younger Walker is a QB.

This will depend on how the younger Walker developes.

Saturday's KY Post had a nice article about Eric Oldiges and how he will be a leader on the team. If anyone knows Eric, he is a genuinely nice young man. Good luck Eric!!!!

Covington Holy Cross has alot of talent. But I would have to say Cody Reardon at QB, Phillip Moore at RB, and Jeff West at WR

For the most part......I like the 10 selected. Don't get me wrong, these are all very good bball players. But Erik Thomas and Luke Mace in the top 10? I would say top 20 at best. The most improved player in the 10 is Josh Nelson. 4 yrs ago, he had no clue how to play. Greg Ponzer did a good job with him....I believe Cory Sorrell verbally commited to NKU. But by far.......Arrez is the best player in the 9th. Another GP product. Good job GP!

If Cory Farris has a 1500 yd yr, does he break Shawn Alexander's record? Was Alexander a Mr. Football?
