Holmes at Dayton Predictions

[All Play No Work]

The Dawgs visit the friendly confines of Davis field for an opener with the Greendevils.

 

Lots of coaching angles in this one but both teams need to perform on the field to come away with the win.

 

Can Dayton tackle the slippery Holmes backfield?

 

Can Holmes defense stop what looks to be a balanced Dayton attack?

 

I look for a fairly high scoring game because special teams play from both will result in decent field position all night long.

 

Predictions?

This is going to be a great game with coach Lickert coming back to Dayton to coach against his former players. If Dayton can stay focused and not worry about getting back at coach Lickert they can win this game. It will be close with Dayton returning 20 something starters I think they edge Holmes 21-20.

I don't know about that. Dayton has alot of speed theirselves. It's gonna be a good game, but I think Dayton has more riding on this then just their first win. I'll take Dayton 28-21.

Dayton will come out fired up and ready to play. They get there starting center back this week which will make them 100% healthy since early July. I think people will be surprised with the speed of Dayton. Dayton will take away what Lickert does best which is hurry up offense and call the plays on the line he cant do that because Dayton knows the plays so that takes away some of the speed.

There is only eleven people on the field at once Holmes dont seem to have much depth either. I think it will be a game of field position and special teams Dayton has been struggling with the kicking games and they look to patch things up this week. Also Dayton has to stop the big play from happening should be a good game well see what happens Friday night!!

For Steeeeeeeve's sake, i hope he wins this one. It won't bode well in Covington to lose to a much smaller team. With the raw but seemingly undiciplined talent, he still should be able to overcome 22 returning starters if need be. I just hope things don't get out of hand. Steve in my opinion has taken a step in his career to better himself to land a big time job. If he can show that he can turn Holmes around just a little bit and have some success, then someone special will come calling.

 

I would love for Dayton to pull this one out for the sake of Losing thier coach in the way it did, but it is also time for the players in general to move foward with the leadership of Zach Deaton!!! Remember, that without Steve and Zach, you guys wouldn't have even been able to get this thing started in the first place. So please move on!!!!!!!
