  1. No......B'wood had men on and he throw 4 to 5 ball in the dirt allowing runners to advance. Also early in the game (around the 3rd) he was not finishing the pitch. Regardless Cody E. was on fire......and B'wood was destin to win the game. HC's coaching throughout the yr. does not know how the coach the kids or the game. Until yesterday....they never positioned fielders to the hitters and signal a bunt with a 3-2 2out situation.
  2. Will Smith? Is there a Will Smith on the team?
  3. First great job Cody and B'wood. If anyone seen the game Roenker was having some kind of lower back prob. But I guess HC coach thought the was better hurt then any of the other heathy pitchers. He left him in way to long. HC has the tendency to ruin pitchers. Matt Bodner was a great pitcher until his fresh yr. The fresh coach pitched him approx 200 pitches in 24 hrs. Arm done! Hasn't pitched again. I would hate to see Roenker damaged. He has a bright future.
  4. Thomas More's football recruiting class ... Just got this from the TMC sports information department: CRESTVIEW HILLS – Thomas More College head football coach Jim Hilvert announces that 55 recruits have committed to continue their playing careers for the Saints. The 55 incoming freshman have all sent their enrollment deposits to the college. The class features 16 defensive linemen, 11 defensive backs, eight offensive linemen, six running backs, six receivers, five linebackers, two quarterbacks and one kicker. Cincinnati’s Greater Catholic League leads the way with 15 recruits, including nine from the GCL South. Cincinnati’s Elder and McNicholas, along with Dixie Heights, each had five players that will be future Saints. Name Pos. 5. New Richmond transfer Cody Reardon (now at Covington Holy Cross) is hitting the ball as well as any of the high profile players in the 9th region. Has anyone seen this kid hit and what do you think? He bats left, throws right, he has a sweeet swing.
  6. Congrats NCC!! Good luck and keep up the hitting!! You did knock the cover off the ball today.
  7. Coachg13207 - Was you at the game last night? If so, what did you see? If not, how do you know it was a bad call? If you talk to the Bwood fans it was a bad call, if you talk to the HC fans it was a great call. I know you know bball. I've played with you and against you throughout the yrs. You are very bball smart. But you know bball is bball and it is a funny sport. If Pickett would have tagged on the fly ball to left most likely it would have went into extra innings and with Cody pitching.........Bwood would have the advantage and probably walked away a winner. But some Bwood fans are sore winners as well as losers and we would still be hearing all the whinning.
  8. He should have tagged up the we would not be hearing about the bad call.
  9. I was there and the ump was in the correct spot. He was to the inside of the diamond where the dirt and grass meet. He was literally on top of the call. As for the balls and strikes.........they looked questionable, but the ump was behind the plate with the best view. Sitting in the stands or in the digout has a bit of depth perception. Soooooo, you really don't know. :rolleyes:I think the ump is a HC student .
  10. UNC-5 you know you're my Bud and I do agree on the strike zone. The call at the plate from where I was, my wife and I thought he was safe. Although the umpire was on top of the call, right on top of it. He must have seen something we didn't. Did the catcher block him off? Because the hand is in the area doesn't make him safe. It was a bang, bang play. If the shoe was on the other foot and you were an HC fan, would you think it was a bad call? As for coach getting ejected, I have know idea of what was said. I was embarressed for Beechwood by the way one of the parents was screaming. This scream was like a scream you would have if you was severely hurt. WOW it was bad. I do know the parent in question and she has been nasty like this for years. All and all, it was a great game! Cody E is a great pitcher and will do great at Ball St. It was a shame he hit the batter to bring in a run. But it is what it is. Baseball is a funny, funny game.
  11. So your saying HC did good last yr. Last was not a good yr. Stevie Wonder could have lead the team better. This is what makes America great, you have your opinion I have mine. And yes, Roenker could have done a better job! You apparently know nothing about the game.
  12. You are absolutely Correct. Roenker is no Reardon, Roenker would not take a 10, 20, 30 yd sack consecutive downs or run out of play for a loss in yds. Roenker would have got rid of the ball. Roenker is 10 times the athelete HC has seen in a long time.
  13. I seen Ronker throw the ball last yr. He has a good arm. IMO, he could have, would have done better than the QB last yr.
  14. First they need to do something more than just run the ball. Put Ronker at QB to run the O.
  15. Would it? TMC have a few WR's coming to play. Latonio Chambers (Purcell Marion) Dettmer (Dixie) Nick Olthaus (Elder) West (Holy Cross) Hankinson (Scott) Are there more? Where's Bricking going to play?
  16. No, there are still a few coaches in the boy's programs. Plus I'm not talking about Mr. Miller or Mr. Trame. Both are great teachers and coaches. The coaches that the kids does not want to play for a great teachers. They just do not relate well with the kids as a coach.
  17. I know for a fact there are and has been kids not playing sports at HC because of coaching.
  18. Regardless of what you or anybody thinks......he is a class act. Yes, maybe it could have been handled better, but it is what it is. I'm sure you or anyone has done things that could have been handled better. Cory Miller is a good man and a great coach. He is loved and will be missed at HC. This is high school, he did not recruit players like a college to come to HC. He's not leaving anyone behind. As anyone might know, you don't make a lot of money teaching at the private schools. He has to go where the money is and maybe opportunity. He did a great job at the AD level at HC. He has what it takes to make a program shine. WV already has the rep as a great education program, now it's time to work on the athletic side. With football coming to WV, WV will be a very nice athletic program in the future.
  19. HC is loosing a class act in Cory Miller. If all the coaches at HC could be like CM.......HC would have kids flocking to the respective teams wanting to play. Instead there are some very talented kids not playing sports because of the coaching. WV will be the team to beat in years to come. Good luck Cory Miller and Dan Trame.
