2008 Holy Cross (Covington)

Featured Replies

What does Holy Cross (Covington) need to do to improve in 2008? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

First they need to do something more than just run the ball. Put Ronker at QB to run the O.

Im sorry Sports Fan34 Andy is a very good athlete, but he is no way a QB.

He may not be now, but he still has 3 seasons of football to play and he is probably the best athlete on the team. If you hooked him up with a good QB coach, he has the potential to be one of the best in No Ky by the time he is a senior. He has all of the tools...he's tall, smart, strong, has a very good arm, runs well and is a leader. That says QB to me.

I seen Ronker throw the ball last yr. He has a good arm. IMO, he could have, would have done better than the QB last yr.

You have got to be kidding? There is no way Roenker could have managed that team better than Cody Reardon. Holy Cross is a running team, and maybe it doesn't take a great QB to "manage" a game... But Reardon was a great athlete and a smart player. Not to take anything away from Roenker, but he's no Reardon, not yet at least...

You are absolutely Correct. Roenker is no Reardon, Roenker would not take a 10, 20, 30 yd sack consecutive downs or run out of play for a loss in yds. Roenker would have got rid of the ball. Roenker is 10 times the athelete HC has seen in a long time.

Bye the way he is going to be a jr this year.

yup

You weren't talking about this upcoming year, you said LAST year. Roenker would not have been able to lead that team like Reardon did.

So your saying HC did good last yr. Last was not a good yr. Stevie Wonder could have lead the team better. This is what makes America great, you have your opinion I have mine. And yes, Roenker could have done a better job! You apparently know nothing about the game.

Reardon was offered preferred walkon at University of Akron in early February and took Western Illinois because they threw some money at him. Both QB spots in Division I programs. Not too many other kids in NKY going Div I, either as preferred walkons or scholarship. Not too many had the choice of two schools. Obviously both programs believe he has enough talent to be Div I. If I am correct, only about 6 player in NKY have this opportunity - and not for lack of trying. Most kids don't settle for Div II or III because they believe they are getting a better education. It is because they are not getting asked to be a part of a Div I program. College coaches at any level need to win. Their jobs depend on it. They recruit who they believe will help them win. Period.

OK:rolleyes:

Didn't Walker take the majority of snaps at QB when he and Roenker were Freshman, where does he enter the QB mix?
