  1. I think that i may have to venture up to watch this game. It should be a high scoring game, well for at least 1 of the teams. Is there a jr varsity game?
  2. I have heard some corbin fans say that the biggest complaint they have with their coach is that he doesnt want any kids who you might call "borderline" playing. If I am understanding you correctly, you think that he could make a difference for some of these kids by getting them to play, maybe bending a little and then have them learn & grow from the discipline he instills in his players. Sounds like a good concept
  3. South laurel Bell Cumberland Jackson co Corbin Knox Pineville North laurel Clay Barbourvile
  4. Corbins coach will make men out of them.............I guess some may not be ready.
  5. After talking to some folks who know 2 of these kids it does not look good for corbin. Should know when school starts back in jan.
  6. Were all of these guys first year players? Did they think they would be the stars this past season and not happy with playing time or what?
  7. Why do the powers that be let South do whatever they want to?
  8. Maybe a man with your experience should apply for a job. I think that Corbins record is something like 4-10 outside the district with wins over middlesboro, lca & Pulaski twice.
  9. The refs let Whitley hang all over Josh Crawford and beat on him most of the game without calling many fouls. He sure handles that better than most would and just keeps on playing. As far as running up the score, you cant tell them not to play hard since there seems to be a lot of competition on Corbin's team for playing time.
  10. There seemed to be some unhappy people around the gym tonight. I hope they dont have to raise my property taxes.:irked:
  11. Those Corbin boys played like they had something to prove tonight and then did it.
  12. Those young Redhounds showed some game beyond their years at times last night. Crawford did whatever he wanted and made it seem all too easy, then again middlesboro didn't really have anyone who could challenge him. Corbin will be a much better team than they were last year by the end of the season as long as Crawford stays healthy.
  13. Since Trinity has over 1400 boys and the average 4A team has 750 or so, it's a little hard for me to accept they do more with less.
  14. I was told that it happened a few times last year, especially at the end of the year.
  15. Middlesboro was probably in the mix of about 5 or 6 teams that fall below Mercer and Belfry. Middlesboro and Western probably have more talent than the other teams in the mix, but are wildly inconsistent. I honestly feel that if the regions had not been moved around this year that Corbin may have come out of the west to more than likely face Mercer out of the east in the championship game.
  16. The Russell player did get control of it but it sure looks like offensive pass interference with him going over the Corbin players back. Some good action shots of the game though.
  17. The one who stated that is not a homer type announcer and always calls the games 50/50, but I guess he could of missed it. Touching it with your foot does not down it?
  18. The Corbin announcers said that the refs almost blew that call and got it right at the end. They said that 2 Corbin players clearly touched the ball dead on the punt but that when Clark picked it up and started running that the refs seemed confused.
  19. Middlesboro cant turn the ball over against good teams and win. their defense or their system is just not good enough, so they need to score just about every time they touch it or you see the result.
  20. Michael Campbell is the player you are talking about for Corbin. He is a 235 lb sophomore who is there strongest player and may be their fastest back when 100% healthy. He has not run the ball since about the 3rd or 4th game of the season for from what I have been told. He is a load to bring down.
  21. I was talking to an "expert" that lives just to the north of Corbin who told me the score was going to be ------------Wayne County 21 & Corbin 20.
  22. Wonder if Corbin could slide into that 9-21 opening on the schedule.
  23. It sounds like a repeat of his time at Corbin. They were worldbeaters early and would fizzle out come playoff time.
  24. I heard on the radio that a couple of Garrard players got a little out of hand in this one and that one maybe got kicked out. Anybody know anything about it?
