Same here about posting my feelings before it was locked. I'd like to say thanks to you for doing the updates. You were the game most of the time during the postseason for me as I had no other means of receiving it. I appreciate your work.

Man alive I have never been so frustrated by a huge victory in my life!

 

Belfry was unbelievable on offense tonight when Haywood wanted them to be...

 

Elkins.. 3/3 passing and all of those went for TD's. I hate to say it, but the Middlesboro players didn't lose this game, Coach Roark's defense did. You cannot stack that many people in the box on Belfry, especially this belfry team with Elkins at QB!

 

I am fuming at the conservative approach Belfry took after getting 42-12 lead...our special teams were ATTROCIOUS tonight as well... and to leave the starters in on that last posession was just askign for an injury with all the personal fouls going on! Dustin May had almost 150 rushing yards.... on 35 CARRIES!

 

All in all what a performance by Elkins, May, Corey Chapman, and our secondary! You take away the deflected pass to Farr and the horrible tackling on the bubble screen and we pretty much shut the Mboro passing game down. Earls is a fantastic player!

 

Hats off to some terrific players at Mboro...wish your coach would have given you a better chance at victory!

To be fair, though, that defensive scheme isn't something Middlesboro "put in" for Belfry. It's their base defense. Perhaps there's some argument for "dancing with who brought ya" ?!?!? :sssh:

 

About Haywood going conservative with a big lead... You know as well as I that's Coach's modus operandi; let the clock run and play defense.

Agreed orion, Middlesboro's defensive players just weren't put in the right place to make plays all night.

This may sound bad but I was wanting to beat them by 40+ which Belfry could very easily have done.. 1) To make a statement and build momentum for next week 2) so we could have pulled our starters and not risked injury...

Playing Belfry is the next best thing to playing Ironton .... Really look forward to this measuring stick .... Especially if you folks can pass this year ...

Belfry better find a way to correct thier special teams play by next week.. it was horrible.. but we did play really good defense besides Mboro's first drive. We had pressure on Hoskins all night and he can't hand pressure at all. The hit that Ivan Lee put on tonight was the best of the season by far.

Belfry had 0 turnovers in this game!!.. way to go Bucs!

First of all, I'm ecstatic, happy with the win, and looking forward to another week of football on Pond Creek.

 

I'm not going to complain about anything.

 

I understand the conservative play calling, it was the best way to protect the lead and insure the win. Even if it is not the most exciting thing to watch, it got the job done.

 

Kick coverage was bad, just plain bad. OK, I'm complaining about that.

Congrats Belfry on the win! Red Devil Nation will be showing up en masse next Friday. Really looking forward to competing with what seems to be another solid Pirate team. :thumb:

I have to give some special tips of the hat to the Belfry O-line.... those boys gave good surges all night as Middlesboro was forced to get sucked in on the FB dive.. then Corey Chapman was an absolute beast for the second straight week. This kid runs with such prupose... definately one of the most underrated backs in Belfry history. The kid has gained almost 1200 yards now on the season, as wellas rushing for over 1000 last season as the #3 option.

 

Hats off also to Elkins... I already mentioned he was 3/3 for over 120 yards and 3 TD,,, but I felt the way he controlled the offense, controlled the clock, and carried out his playfakes really made us so tough to contain. I have been on this kids' bandwagon since early in the year.. there are times he looks like a sophomore... but here lately he is more of a Senior out there!

 

Also, Ivan Lee. The jackets ATTACKED Lee tonight on defense time after time... when we needed a big play though he was there to respond with the moster hit on the bubble screen that he had already been burnt on once.

 

This has turned into a very special team... and I have not seen a Belfry backfield hit the holes as hard as this squad!
