Bourbon plays Owen County Fri. Sept. 2 at home on their new field.

I wouldn't count Bourbon County out of that mix, granted they are also from the 40th district. The Colonels split with Montgomery and Clark in the regular season and beat Harrison both times this year. Their feeder program is just hitting the high school with a good talent pool. Pitching and Catching abound for several years to come. Only time will tell. Good luck to both the Cardinals and Indians in the 10th reion finals.

I think they will me much improved this year. I think they lost 7 seniors last year. They have A very strong J/V and freshman team last year returning. There is much excitement within the program. Construction crews broke ground yesterday starting what will be new turf field, new lights, new practice fields, new track and lights for the baseball field. Good luck Colonels and can't wait to see the new facilities.

As the regular season winds down who do you think the winners and runner-ups will be for all of the districts?

Game finished on May 11th. Bourbon beat Clark 7-6 in the 7th. Bourbon faced 3 batters, walking the first, infield fly by Amy Haggard and ground out by Shamy Williams. This win gives Bourbon 2nd seed and home team when they play Clark County in the district at Clark. Bourbons JV won 10-0 in 3 innings.

If I am not mistaken that should put the district in a three way tie.

Yes, that is the name that I have heard.

It is my understanding that the CKFOA will bust up all of their Varsity crews this coming year. They are going to use split crews this year. They cover the 10th and 11th regions. From what I hear It is coming from the KHSAA and or the policy board. I am interested to know what some of the other Coaches and Fans think about this. The pros and cons.

Any word on if he has applied anywhere, Or if there is any schools interested in him?

I think Doug Preston would be a good fit in this program. He is from Central Ky and I believe he would be willing to hang around and make this team realize its potential.

As an outsider looking in, only basing these comments on what I have read from this forum over the last couple of years I would say Spread O has hit the nail on the head with his comment. To have a good "PROGRAM" you need a few athletes, some good coaches, good administration, good facilities, good community support, and GREAT PARENTS. If you are missing any of these ingredients then it is hard to expect that the end result will taste good.

Some teams cut the lead blocker it is hard to see and because of this you dont see it called much, however it is illegal.

I thought this might be a closer game than this. Belfry ran the ball well tonight, and controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Good game, great atmosphere, and good food. There was a great crowd on hand. Is this the norm for regular season games at the CAM.
