Who will go after this job? What is the condition of the program?

Better question were is Preston headed too?

What happened

The word is, it was not his choice.

Spoke to Coach Preston at the state championships he was really excited about the players he had coming up and the next several seasons. I wish him and his family the best.

I hate that...with all the coaching changes this year makes me think high school football is turning into win at all cost attitude. Coaches are/will see that and they will treat it that way...in the end the coaches will care more about winning and losing because they are fearful for their jobs and the players get hurt. This sport that use to teach life lessons will end up teaching the opposite. Just my thoughts. I also echo arrows68....I wish Coach Preston and his family the best.

I've heard the same thing, that he was essentially "fired" by the parents.

Wow, Doug is a great guy...he deserves better anyway!

Unbelievable. Doug is a great guy and just as good a coach. He will resurface somewhere in time. I know he is hurt right now, but he's a very strong willed person. He'll be fine.

Parents have too much control and never want what is best for the "PROGRAM" all they care about is little jimmy. This is teaching kids to be selfish people, and what used to teach teamwork now does opposite. Good luck to Coach Preston and his family.

Heck of Coach, even better person. The people at BE really have lost a good one. Not for sure, but I think he is the only coach ever work the carpet for them, and played Bell to the teath.

Even worse than these parents is people in charge that bow down to foolish non sense, rumors, and lies. Good luck to coach Preston.

Mike Egan took then to the AA finals in 1994 where they lost to Danville.
