Rank the Districts

Featured Replies

As the regular season winds down who do you think the winners and runner-ups will be for all of the districts?

For the 9th I would go,

33rd

W: Ryle

L: Boone

34th

W: St Henry

L: Dixie

35th (one of the weakest districts in the state)

W: Holy Cross

L: Holmes

36th

W: New Cath

L: Newport

As long as Ryle and St Henry are not in the same half of the bracket I would guess those 2 in the finals with Ryle making another trip to Owensboro.

I agree with SSC but dont count out the young Ladys at Highlands, they have played alot better of late. As far as the 37th Big green horse is correct. Campbells been done for a while & I dont think Scott can beat Brossart. Cant wait to watch some games next week!!!

And the 37th is not up there with 33rd either.

Yes don't count Highlands out. They are playing well, and they will be at home in the pit.

Didn't they just get beat by an average Simon Kenton team 8-1. Highlands is improving but will have a tough time getting out of their district with their draw.

Which teams are in the 35th? Holy Cross, NDA, Holmes. Who else?

That's right. Weak district indeed.

There is only one strong district in NKY.

And it will be that way for a long time to come I hate to say, until the Kenton and Campbell county teams can develope pitching prospects to the likes of Boone, Conner, & Ryle. Aside from pitching they are all fundamentally sound with ALL aspects of the game. The only way anyone else wins the region is going to be an "act of God".

Agreed.

Holy Cross was within 1 out of beating Ryle in the semi finals of the 9th region tournament last year (and only graduated 2 players). They have been really bad this year bc both of there quality pitcher's got hurt and are out for the season. Next year one of those pitchers will be returning and should right the ship a little. They have maybe the best shortstop in the state who is a sophomore along with several other good soph's. If the pitching can get healthy and back to form they would be able to compete for a 9th region title. They might not win it but don't think it would be an act of god either.
