  1. I think Boyle is the 3rd or 4th best team in the state right now after Trinity, X, and possibly Highlands...
  2. I will keep going regardless if the games are in BG or Louisville, but I prefer Louisville. If it aint broke, don't fix it...
  3. Southern had a total of 13 yards of offense in the game...
  4. The rain started at the end of the 1st quarter and was an absolute monsoon during the 2nd quarter. Madison Southern probably had negative yardage at halftime but a kickoff return by Rico Brown gave them their 1st points of the season....
  5. I think there are a variety of reasons (with others closer to the situation to answer than me), but things are getting worse before they are getting better: Dunbar's remaining schedule has Trinity, Boyle County, Henry Clay, Scott County, and Madison Central who are all highly ranked in thier respective classes.........to go along with Tates Creek, Lafayette, and Pulaski Southwestern who I assume are all better than Middlesboro.
  6. Stat from the Lexington Herald: Dunbar had minus-73 yards rushing and allowed seven sacks in loss to Middlesboro last week. I think there is a very, very good chance that Dunbar is the worst team in 6A and finishes 0-10. They have been thrashed the past two weeks by teams that are not even ranked very high in smaller classes. After the beating I expect Scott County to give them tonight, their rating will drop even more...
  7. Southern has been outscored 109-0 in their two games and I see nothing changing in this one...
  8. Simpson scores 4 TDs as Indians roll Where are all those Southern supporters who were saying the Eagles were giong to contend this year?
  9. Were there any dog biscuits eaten prior to this game? :sssh:
  10. Congrats to Mark Scenters and staff on their first win! :thumb:
  11. 44-0 at the half, 57-0 midway through the 3rd......starters pulled shortly into the 2nd half.... Rich Brooks needs to be knocking on MC RB/LB/DE Keyshawn Simpson's door, this kid when healthy is an absolute STUD....made one of the best plays I have ever seen in a high school game: batted a pass into the air, caught the ball, and drug 6 or 7 MS defenders 15 yards to the 2 yard line. Keyshawn also had well over 100 yards rushing and multiple TDs. Several other Indians had great games as well... I feel for Madison Southern, they will struggle to win a game this year...
  12. The victor doesn't surprise me, the margin does......especially in Lex.... *sorry for the double post, please merge
  13. Ouch! If I recall, this is Station's first win over another Lexington school since the 2000 season?
  14. ^Ouch, that's the core of their team....
  15. Is Yeremiah Bell still with the Dolphins? He is a GRC and EKU product....
  16. This thread is the first time I have ever heard of a team running a bus after/before football practice...
  17. I thought he had an offer, but hadn't committed?
  18. I agree and am glad it didn't work out that way....Shelbyville to Harlan is 3.5 hours...
  19. FWIW, Harlan County was in the original 6 class alignment in a 6A district with GRC, Madison Central, Scott County, and Shelby County...
  20. Henry Clay lost a ton of thier skill players, not sure what kind of drop-off they will have, but losing Phillippi, Boyd, and Gay will hurt. Dunbar, Tates Creek, and Lafayette all have new coaches and I would expect growing pains. Dunbar could potentially be the best team in Lexington (6A) if everyone from last year returns....a big if IMO. Madison Central has potential to be good offensively if Keyshawn Simpson can stay healthy. A big if (as always) will be their ability to stop teams and how the new QB will do playing full-time. Jim McKee has built a very solid program at Scott County and will be solid as usual. I'm sure last season's embarrassing 1st round exit will lead to a hungy team....not sure what they return as far as players though? Honestly, the gap between central KY 6A and Trinity/St. X will be as large as I can remember (recently at least)...
  21. That 280 can balloon up to 320 once they hang up the pads and stop exercising every day. The major concern is when they stop playing...
  22. Paul Rains - LCA
  23. Maybe not some of the state's classics, but some of my favorites include: 1. Bryan Station vs. St. X 1999 State Championship Game Both teams were loaded, and you can't ask for more in a game to decide a state title. It was fun watching a team with less than 50 players up against an army and holding their own. 2. Madison Central vs. Scott County 2004 Regional Championship Ted Sberna and Percy Hargrove gashed Central's defense, only to have Paul Warford and Ryan Barnes return the favor. Scott County took multiple leads of 21 points only to see MC get an onside kick and have a chance to win it at the end. Awesome game if you love offense. 3. Louisville Central vs. Pulaski Southwestern 2006 Regional Championship Again, not much defense being played by either side...Tim Huegley was a terror for Central scoring literally every other time he touched the rock. Southwestern went to the air and had their chances in the final seconds only to Central break up 4 straight passes in the endzone to seal the win. 4. Madison Central vs. Tates Creek 1999 Regular Season The Commodores were in the midst of 4 straight state semi appearances and Joe Ruddell made some comments leading up to the game that added fuel to the fire. MC comes out led by Ryan Jones, Tee Parks, and Joey Duff on offense and sticks it to TC 42-19 in Lexington. 5. Highlands vs. Rockcastle County 2000 State Semis Even though the game wasn't close, the atmosphere at the Rock was incredible leading up to kickoff, and that Highlands team was loaded with Grover, Hamblen, Rob Smith, Gino, Ben Scott, etc.
  24. That shouldn't have squat to do with it. The KHSAA can't put restrictions on where you work and live. There are thousands of people who live in the counties surrounding Fayette and still work in Lexington, while their children attend Madison, Scott, and Clark County schools.
  25. I agree. "Athletic Gain" is something that can be left open to interpretation and the KHSAA needs to define where the boundaries are...
