Thoughts?

Dunbar is without Jerrell Greene through the first two games. Quaddae Singleton, the best returning defensive lineman, is not playing. Marquis Clay, the returning Starting QB, hasn't shown up yet. Eric Ayers, a two year starter at Offensive Tackle, hasn't reported yet. This is what I am hearing from the Dunbar camp. Going to be tough for the Dawgs if this is the case. East is really looking forward to the season. Should be a good scrimmage. I will take the Jaguars.

Is Green out for the first two regular season games or the two preseason scrimmages?

 

Has Singleton quit playing football altogether?

 

ALL these noted absences greatly reduce Dunbar's potential and will quickly drop them down the 6A ladder.

I don't think Greene will play at all until the third game of the regular season. That is what I have been told. Singleton is not playing, due to grades I believe. I am just going on what I have been told by someone very close to the program.

Loked like East Jessamine was the better team last night. Dunbar moved the ball but not very well. East scored twice while Dunbar got a late score .Varsity East 12 Dunbar 7.

Dunbar had five turnovers.... four in the red zone. Dunbar moved the ball all over the field, but seemed to lose focus when it counted.

Dunbar is going to struggle this year. I would say and 2-8 or 3-7 will be there final record this year. Although they maybe alot better if they get there RB back.

Its going to be a long year for Dunbar. East Jessamine has a shot at being a very good football team in 4A this season.

How have the kids adjusted to the new coach and his staff? That to me will be the hardest thing.

Ayers and Clay are playing, but Singleton is not.

Dunbar has been beaten up with injuries,as well as grades and no shows. Will be a tough year this year. But should contend for a state championship in 2 years.... this team is full of big and talented sophmores and freshmen.

I think the freshman team should be plenty talented......but the sophmore class lost both to Tates Creek and Henry Clay in blowouts last year.

How did East look? I heard they are running the Tony Franklin Offense this year? How good is their defense? Do they still have that LB that was pretty good from last year?

In fairness to the Sophmore class they had very little coaching on the freshman team last year. The sophmore class has several big kids that will complement the more talented freshman class. There are 7 linemen in the sophmore class right now that are 6'2or bigger and go 230 or more. There will be about 7 sophmores starting Varsity this year.
